Novitec Rosso has just revealed their latest tuning package for the gorgeous Ferrari 458 Spider, including carbon fiber aerodynamic elements, a new set of forged wheels and evidently, an increase in horsepower and overall performances. Let's have a look.
First, let's take a look at the heart of the Novitec Rosso Ferrari 458 Spider. The tuning company replaced the stock exhaust system with a high performance from Inconel, has added a carbon-fiber air box, high performance manifolds and a sportier catalyst. Optionally, the muffler can be fitted with a butterfly valve, which is pretty sweet. Furthermore, the 458 received a carbon fiber engine cover and newly programmed engine electronics. The result is 419 lb-ft of torque and a 39 horsepower increase, for a total of 609 horsepower compared to the 570 HP delivered by the stock 4.5 liter V8 engine. As far as top speed goes, the Novitec Rosso 458 Spider can top 201 miles per hour, meaning a 3 mph increase compared to the unmodified 458.
The exterior has also been modified for better aerodynamics, the Novitec Rosso package adding lots of carbon fiber elements including a new rear spoiler lip, a two-piece front spoiler, side skirts, side mirrors and air scoop wings. At the back the 458 received a set of auxiliary LED brake lights and the taillights have been blacked-out for better looks. Furthermore, the Novitec Rosso comes with a set of 22-inch forged wheels and the ride has been lowered by 35 mm to improve handling. However, to protect the front end of the car the new hydraulic suspension system allows the driver to raise the front-end of the car by up to 40 mm, the 458 Spider reversing to the original ride height once it reaches 50 mph.
The Novitec Rosso tuning package also makes a few changes on the interior, including a carbon fiber center console, carbon fiber bezels, longer shift paddles and a climate sensor. If that doesn't seem enough for your taste, don't worry because Novitec Rosso offers interior customization based on the customer's specifications.
Unfortunately, no details regarding the price have been revealed just yet, but by the looks of it we don't expect the Novitec Rosso tuning package to be cheap.
Overall, the tuned-up Ferrari 458 in an even more appealing Spider and the competition between the 458 and its arch nemesis, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder has just become more interesting.
