Some time ago we had the opportunity to talk in detail about the G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RR and how far the BMW tuner has managed to push the M5 to its limits. Now it's time to talk about its smaller sibling, the M1 because the famous tuning company is at it again and has recently revealed the G-Power BMW 1M Coupe 2013.
First off, let's take a look under the hood and see what motivates this ferocious coupe. A 3.0 liter straight-six power plant has been fitted on this particular M1 and coupled with aG-Power supercharger system this rather small BMW is now able to develop 435 horsepower and interestingly enough, the same amount of 435 lb-ft of torque. That's a notable increase of 95 horsepower and 66 lb-ft of torque from the standard M1. More so, that's an increase of 15 horsepower from the standard BMW M3 Coupe.
The results are pretty spectacular and the G-Power is now able to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds whilst having a top speed of 186 miles per hour.
The modifications under the hood are quite severe and go beyond any "aftermarket" electronic performance output enhancements that one could fit on their M1. The G-Powered 1M has received new hardware components such as the flow optimized downpipes meant to reduce the exhaust gas temperature, or the boost cooling system with enlarged capacity that works diligently on keeping the engine temperature to an optimal level in any circumstance.
A new, complete exhaust system made from titanium featuring four carbon or titanium finishes has been fitted on the 1M in order to increase the performances and lower the weight by 20 kg, but also to deliver a sportier sound through the butterfly valve that has been fitted within the exhaust and can be controlled via a wireless switch.
Additionally the G-Power 1M comes with custom-made engine software that has its parameters modified individually for each customer in order to deliver the best results according to the list of options chosen by the buyer.
Other G-Power features available with the 1M include the 20" Silverstone Diamondwheels coupled with a set of Michelin tires, a new G-Power coil-over suspension system and a much more effective braking system consisting in 396 mm disks and 6-piston brake calipers, just to name a few.
How much would the G-Power tuning kit cost you? 10,238 Euros for the Bi-Tronic V3 performance kit including the titanium exhaust system, 4,500 Euros for the new set of wheels including the Michelin Pilot Sport tires, 1,700 Euros for the coil-over suspension and 25,000 Euros for the new front and rear axles including the G-Power ceramic braking system, and the list could go on.
