The 2013 Audi Lane Cross Coupe is a dual-mode hybrid concept which features an innovative and efficient plug-in hybrid drive based on a specially developed 1.5L three-cylinder TDI and two electric motors with a Fuel consumption of just 1.1L per 100km (213 mpg) and CO2 emissions of just 26 grams per km.
The 2013 Audi lane cross coupe accelerates in 8.6 seconds from zero to 100km/h (62mph) and has a top speed of 182 km/h. The lithium-ion battery delivers 17.4 kWh and has a range of 86 km on pure electric mode. The hybrid coupe has two driving modes: cruise and race. The "cruise" mode priortizes electric driving. The driver experiences neither shifting nor perceptible engine starts.
On the exterior, the 2 +2- seater Audi lane cross coupe is 4.21 meters long, 1.88 wide, 1.51 meters high, the wheelbase is 2.56 meters. The single-frame grille dominates the front and is integrated as a structural part of the multi-material space frame. This solution symbolizes the philosophy behind the Audi lane cross coupe: The basic concept, the technology and design merge in a new way.
The trapezoidal headlights use the Audi matrix LED headlight technology. Small, individually controllable LEDs generate all lighting functions, micro reflectors allow accurate positioning. The bumper integrates large and mostly smooth-air intakes. Two small openings in the hood give a view on the upper aluminum support of the multi-material space frame.
