Since the introduction of the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S in September 2011, many tuners have worked hard to tune this rear-engined sports car. One of those many tuners, TechArt, has officially unveiled the tuning package for the 911 Carrera S at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year.
The exterior of this Porsche received several mods which resulted in weight reduction and enhanced performance for the 2012 TechArt Porsche 911 Carrera S. The Porsche tuners induced a yellow-colored muscular body kit with some carbon-fiber parts. Moreover, lightweight 20-inch & 21-inch 5-spoke forged center lock alloy wheels do the rest of the weight-reduction work for the sports car. It’s because of the fact that car’s weight has always had an impact on driving dynamics, and thus with a weight advantage of 15% in this case over cast wheels, the car’s driving dynamics too has shot up. What adds to the aerodynamic quotient of the car is its fixed rear spoiler with trailing edge (with integrated third brake light).
The interiors of the car too have been modified in the same exciting way as that of the exteriors. The car features contrasting black interiors (dashboard, leather trims etc.) with yellow extended lines at regular intervals, thus completing the overall sporty feel.
If you take a look under the hood, you’d find that TechArt has continued using current engine, i.e. a 3.8L flat-six engine capable of producing 400hp power @7,400 rpm, while the maximum torque of 325 lb-ft can be obtained at 5,600 rpm. The 2012 TechArt Porsche 911 Carrera S takes mere 4.3 seconds to reach 100kmph from its stationary position. While the car has a top speed of 304 kmph, it’s reported that when the car runs in Sport Plus mode, it takes only 4.1 seconds to reach the 100kmph mark. The price tag of the car is expected to be released soon.
