Volkswagen Polo 2014 Review

Volkswagen has taken wraps off a mid-cycle facelift for 2014 Polo which will make its public debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new Polo gets new distinctive LED headlights, new front bumper and an updated grille with horizontal lines. The base model, the Polo Trendline, is equipped with K7 headlights as standard. It also gets the new optional Sport Select suspension - which uses electronically controlled dampers. The rear lights are redesigned as well.

New to the wheel line-up are the standard alloy wheels for the Polo Comfortline (15 inch) and for the Polo Highline (16 inch). The newly developed 17-inch alloy wheel can be ordered as an option. It will be available in 8 new body colors.

New three- and four-cylinder petrol engines lead the changes. There are two 1.0-litre MPI units, with 60 or 75 PS and two 1.2-litre four-cylinder TSI engines with 90 or 110 PS. Also a 1.4-litre TSI engine with cylinder deactivation (ACT) will be available, this time with power increased by 10 PS to 150 PS. A range-topping Polo GTI with increased power will be available next year.

Diesel power is provided for by two new three-cylinder 1.4-litre TDI with 75 and 90 PS.
