Toyota has released new details about the 2014 Verso compact MPV offering extra style and high-tech equipment features.
The model is equipped with a BMW-sourced 1.6 D-4D diesel engine that has received extensive modifications including a newly-developed dual-mass flywheel, revised engine mounts, and completely redesigned electrical interfaces.
The new 1.6 D-4D diesel engine develops110bhp (82kW) and 270Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It is fitted to a Toyota six-speed manual transmission with stop-start technology, a first for the Verso range. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 185 km/h (115 mph). The model averages 62.8 mpg UK combined (4.5 L/100km / 52.2 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
Verso gains a new Trend grade for 2014, introducing an extra dash of style and some high-tech equipment features to the specification. The Trend versions are easy to distinguish thanks to a black C-pillar decal that creates a floating roof effect – a styling feature shared with the latest Yaris Trend. The model also has fog lights, privacy glass and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Other highlights include front parking sensors, a rearview camera and GPS navigation.
