The Gemballa Tornado GTR concept car is based on the Porsche Cayenne 957 Turbo. The Gemballa Tornado GTR Porsche Cayenne is light weight and features racing seats. There is also an option for a two-wheel drive version.
The GTR will feature rear wheel drive, with a V8 engine at 740hp. Indiscrete use of carbon fibre is used in the body work, with 22 inch sports wheels, revolutionary aerodynamics and new interiors with Carrera GT style and four separate sports seats.
TORNADO GTR Concept
Famed Porsche tuner Gemballa will turn the Cayenne GTS into the Tornado GTS or the exclusively performance-tuned Tornado GTR. The Tornado is the evolution of a concept that the company displayed in early 2008.
Gemballa looked to the Carrera GT supercar for inspiration for the SUV's styling. The appearance package includes black five-spoke wheels, a new front fascia with gaping air intakes, a vented carbon-fiber hood, new taillights, and an integrated rear diffuser. Inside, the interior gets sporty adjustable seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a center console modeled after the one in the Carrera GT.
The Tornado will be available with three levels of power increments up from the standard 495 hp in the Cayenne GTS. Buyers can select 542, 641 and 740 hp depending on the desired level of tune. Opting for the most powerful GTR trim shaves off 250 kg of luxury items and cuts out the all-wheel-drive system meaning the SUV only sends power to the rear.
Gemballa Tornado models are expected to be available only to the European market with no word on pricing. Its production will be limited to a mere 50 units.
