2009 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line

Volkswagen is planning a new addition to the Tiguan range, not as a different model, but as a bulked up version of the series model. The Volkswagen Individual designed Tiguan R Line is set for release in June, bringing with it significant visual changes when compared to the base version.

The R Line will be available for two engine versions: the 2.l TDI common rail diesel (140 horsepower and 170 horsepower) and the 200 horsepower 2.0l TSI unit, providing a fuel efficiency rating of 19 mpg (12.3l/100km) in city mode and 26 mpg (9l/100km) in highway conditions.

Sporty R-line equipment packages now also available for the Tiguan

Wolfsburg , 22 April 2009 - The Tiguan seems even more dynamic, refreshed with the typical features of the R-line such as 19 inch “Omanyt” wheels, newly designed and finished bumpers as well as sporty interior details. The new equipment packages for this success model are now available.

Substantial identification characteristics of the Tiguan R-line are the 19 inch "Omanyt" alloy wheels. Moreover, the Tiguan with the R-line "Exterieur" equipment package is recognisable through a whole range of specific body modifications. These include the colour coded bumpers which have been newly designed on the lower section, a diffuser integrated into the rear bumper (black grained) and a front radiator grille with double ribs finished in a "matt chrome". Viewed from the side, black wheel arch extensions and colour coded sills provide for an even more striking design. In addition, chrome inlays in the door attachments highlight the sportiness and elegance of the Tiguan. A logo on each wing panel also points out the sporty R-line equipment. Furthermore, it is equipped with the so-called dynamic running gear with a sportier shock absorber tuning.

Tiguan buyers can chose the R-line "Plus" package additionally or separately for the individualisation of the interior. Whoever decides only upon this package will still receive the "Omanyt" alloy wheels included in the R-line equipment package and the dynamic running gear. The character of the interior becomes even sportier through front sport seats with R-line imprinted on the head restraints and upholstery in a " Monte Carlo " design. Brake and gas pedals are additionally kept in a special R-line design.

For new vehicle configurations, the R-line "Exterieur" package is available for 2,490 Euro and the R-line "Plus" package is priced at 1,760 Euro. Combining both packages is possible for 2,990 Euro. Due to the dynamic tailoring, the R-line equipment packages are available exclusively for the Sport&Style Tiguan version.
