Volkswagen has revealed the 2014 XL1, which is the most fuel-efficient production car in the world, with a fuel consumption value of 0.9 l/100 km. With low weight, perfect aerodynamics and a low centre of gravity, the XL1 is an automotive hero that follows pure sports car design principles. It can be said that the XL1 will make a spectacular appearance – a car of the future, built for today.
High-tech lightweight design, perfect aerodynamics and a plug-in hybrid system – consisting of a two-cylinder TDI engine (35 kW / 48 PS), E-motor (20 kW / 27 PS), 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG) and lithium-ion battery – all make it possible for the new Volkswagen XL1 to emit just 21 g/km of CO2.
Aston Martin unveiled a stunning design prototype 100 - DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo, exclusively for the PS3 Gran Turismo 6 game. The twin-turbo V12 mid-engined racer offers up to 800bhp, endowing it with blistering performance fully in keeping with the high octane nature of the game. The car will be available for download from July 2014.
About 30 years ago, a history was marked at Peugeot with introduction of the 205 GTi in 1984. The GTi badge has been featuring performance versions of the Peugeot's production car ever since then.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary, Peugeot unveiled the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Limited Edition at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 208 GTi 30th delivers a more intense driving sensation enhanced with a new Euro6 1.6-litre THP petrol engine developing 300Nm of torque and maximum power increased to a symbolic 208hp. Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, it has exceptional traction and efficiency assured through the specification of a Torsen differential, specific suspension and steering settings. The exterior can also be distinguished with an optional paint finish – a coupe franche – where the rear is separated distinctively by a sharp dividing line from which the colours are cleanly divided.
Its sporty and assertive temperament can also been seen in its stance and look, in particularly by its dual-material livery, separated by a sharp dividing line. It will be presented to the public at the forthcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show, with sales starting in November 2014.
Mazda MX-5 Roadster is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. The MX-5 Roadster made its public debut at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show and has enjoyed quite a bit of success since its launch.
The Mazda MX-5 roadster 25th Anniversary Limited Edition will be powered by a 160hp 2.0-litre engine that can take the car from standstill to 62mph in sub-8 seconds. The MX-5 Roadster has a top speed of 136mph with perfect, 50:50 weight distribution and a low moment of inertia for outstanding agility and driving enjoyment.
The Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Limited Edition will go on sale from August 1st, 2014 and is limited to only 1000 production units (individually numbered).

The 2015 McLaren 650S Spider performs as well as the the fixed-roof McLaren 650S. The new 650S Spider accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 3.0 seconds and reaches 200km/h (124mph) in 8.6 seconds.
The two piece roof can be raised or lowered in less than 17 seconds on the move at speeds up to 30km/h (19mph).
Volkswagen has revealed an updated version of the Beetle Dune concept revealed back in 2000, which will have its public debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show next week. The Dune concept might hit the production line and could be seen in as early as 2015.
The Dune concept features an increased ride height, crossover-like styling, alloy wheels, black moldings and protective plates. The interior boasts yellow accents with a handle replacing the glove box.The Dune concept will be powered by the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TSI engine with an output of 210 HP (154 kW) and will carry a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. Jjust like the R-Line, the Dune puts its power to the ground via the front wheels.
