Great looking car but those tail lights just suck. Why did they ever change the JDM lights!
rio
Um cool car but you should have taken the door ding guards off before hand! I'd want to protect my evo too...
DakianDelomast
The merryican taillights are selling for big bucks overseas. At the very least I'm sure there's someone in the UK that wants to trade.
fiber optic
Have you gotten to drive it? Or even ride in it? I've seen maybe 2 Evolutions around here. One on the street and one on the spinner at the dealership.
Diesel
i'm due for a ride.. next time we go out to lunch.
clarkma5
Don't bother riding in it until it's after break-in wink.gif
DakianDelomast
Pha. Breakin is bullshit if you ask me. The cars are thrashed so hard when they get on the lots if anything was going to break it would have by the time they get there. Trust me about 6 or 7 ham fisted teens have driven that car long before anyone bought it.
clarkma5
Well, 50 miles of thrashing is better than 1000 is my logic.
DakianDelomast
1000 miles of constant thrashing will ruin lots of stuff. But revving it out and showing someone the acceleration isnt going to hurt it. nor is running it through some twisties. You're not going to flog it those entire 1000 miles.
clarkma5
I dunno, I just think it's better to obey the break in, even if some leadfoot salespeople got to thrash your car before you did. I went for a long, 1500 mile break-in personally. smile.gif
5LiterMustang
when i got my truck, it had 8 miles on it.. so nobody could have fucked with it anyways... (who would race a truck anyways..)

anyways, congradulate your mate deisel... its an awesome car, although the color, spoiler, and taillights are "so-so"
RedLine
Can you buy non-clear taillights?
DakianDelomast
Not in the states you cant but you can get them shipped in overseas.
5LiterMustang
this car and the Lightning... wtf is up with the lights. they dont fit the application at all.

in some cases, they are ok (IS300), but for the most part, its just a trendy fashion to appeal to the 2F2F crowd

Yeah... driving the car hard nomatter when is going to strain the engine.
mogulmonster
Very nice evo. I've seen only one in this area, and its already been lowered, tinted, and acquired a cat-back.

Its a shame what dumb rich kids around here think improves a car's performance. wink.gif
Diesel
the lights from the normal Lancer will fit this car. the none altezza ones.
fallon
bastard!, i want one sad.gif you have a lucky friend, what did he pay for it total?
BankieVR6
i love the new evo's, sweet stuff. of course id rather nab the extra 30 horsepower and hook up with the STI, but thats me

It looks good on the IS because Toyota is the creator of those lights. The car in Japan is called the Toyota Altezza, hence the name altezza lights.

But yea you're right, they look ugly on most cars. http://www.machevo.com/evoviitala.html they sell regular lights for the evo.

IMO, pictures do not do that car justice. It looks sooooooooo much better in real life.
Mr b00st
I agree, these cars are stunning in real life. THere are two near me- a yellow one which was one of the first sold in the states, and a blue one. They're major cool. thumbs_up.gif thumbs_up.gif
