with that wing and that rollcage, it looks to be a race car.

i dont get it. why do all expensive racy kinds of cars have the fuzzy steering wheels? what is that all about, and why is it restricted to only the most elite cars? you see it on F1, speed GT, somewhat in rally... what is that fuzz??

Also available with the matching fuzzy dice. wink.gif

Seriously though, it's for better grip on the steering wheel.

Maybe if you have racing gloves . I imagine those thing are preety uncomfortable when driving with your bare hands .

Dude that's either sateen, Alcantara or real suede it feels great. You don't know what you are missing. Brabus uses it in their cars too. It's like a soft little doggie.

The cheapest car I've ever seen that has an alcantara steering wheel is the Audi TT (it's optional)

Alcantara feels very nice. I wish I could have a coat made out of it. That would be sweet.

It looks to luxurious from the outside to be a race, I mean there not much body modification really, so it just looks wrong.

Alcantara looks weird but is quite good for grip, but I can imagine it being alot better for grip with racing gloves, as there would be more friction than with your bare hands.
Dreaming of Elise
i used to have a suede steering wheel in my car...they have better grip with or without gloves, and since it wasn't the rubbery flexible rim like the production wheel, it had better response.
