First off YES, I've thouroghy read the manual. Everything seems right. Can't figure it out.

TV signal is coming from cable box the the ANT 1 input on the back of TV.

TV: Hitatchi 51F500 Widescreen, HDTV
Surround system:: Philips MX3910D - MX3960D

REcevier is set to TV/AV and also get nothing through AUX setting, with wires plugged to AUX.. I've tried plugging thins every which way... to no avail.

What I want to do is have my normal TV heard through the surround speakers which currently work fin when watching DVD's. (seems easy enuf but damn... be as specific as possible.)

Hmmmm let me obseve for a few minutes maybe I can help. I have mine setup how you want but I have my DVD through the optical cable and the tv is through regular audio cables.

Im not really sure what is what in the pictures, but this is how I have mine set up.

fiber optic cable from xbox (dvdplayer) to reciever for dvd/games

coax cable from cablebox-television
red&white audio cables from aux output on tv to aux input on reciever

and when I want to watch tv with sound through the reciever I put the reciever on the DVD setting.

ok now im retarded what the hell is boxing day

edit: n/m

Boxing Day

The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.

Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.

"Boxing Day" is listed in the Canada Labour Code as a holiday.

It's like the busiest shopping day of the year to most.

they lined up for about 4 hours before it opened, at best buy. I work 8 hours at time and a half, drove to best buy at 4:30, found an ok setup, they had a 50$ off sign there by accident, so the already good deal saved me more money to get some cables.

Gonna hook up some different front speakers for now.
