my friend in taiwan (he goes to school over here in the states, but flies home every chance he gets) has been telling me it's out there for a while now, i just thought he was bsing, i could easily get him to bring a couple back with him, but couldn't play it on a us ps2 anyway

Because US PS2's are set to only play US titles...
Just like you have different region dvd's, region 3 dvd's wont work on a region 1 player. Also different video standards. The list goes on and on

and that GT4 hopefully will be out: 02/23/2005
