That website pretty much sums up how I feel smile.gif

Man, I feel the same way...and I'm a Brit! The UK press is paying more attention to the US elections than they do to the UK elections! (That pretty much shows how dreary and boring UK politics is...) Anywho, I've got this quote for comfort.

'If George W. Bush wins the election in November, 2004, and continues to be the President of the United States of America , the whole world will explode in a terrific display of fire and noise followed only by darkness and the screams of a thousand infants crying out for their mothers.'

It's sad tho. So few are pro kerry, they're just anti-bush. Let's hope he doesn't fuck everyone over.

Kerry is intelligent, competent, and I agree with a lot of what he has to say. For me, at least, I'm not just anti-Bush (although I do think he's Satan incarnate)

Well he's going to have to try pretty damn hard in order to beat Bush's record for fucking everyone over.

But anyways... I was reading BBCs website about the election and it had some interesting comments regarding a tie...

A Washington Post analysis of 11 swing states found no less than 33 different combinations that would result in a 269-269 Electoral College tie.

Under the 12th amendment to the US constitution, in case of tie, the House of Representatives chooses the president. Because Republicans will probably control the House, President Bush would be likely to win.

But the Senate chooses the vice-president, making it theoretically possible that Mr Bush could be saddled with John Edwards as his second-in-command.

A Bush/Edwards government? tard.gif
clarkma5
Whoa, Bush/Edwards...THAT would be an interesting ticket.
Mellender17
And who is this Edwards bloke exactly?

And who is this Edwards bloke exactly?

He is Kerry's running mate; if Kerry wins the presidency, then John Edwards would be the vice president. In the case of a tie in the electoral college, though, we would most likely have Bush as president (a Republican) with Edwards as vice president (a Democrat).

I had a friend who didn't want to vote for anyone on the presidential race when it was Bush / Gore / Nader. He wrote in "My Papa" and his ballot made the front page of 2 local papers. smile.gif Not bad, since one was Milwaukee's main paper.
DakianDelomast
Part of me wishes that bush would win, another part wishes for kerry to win. But no matter what I lose. God damn asskissers.

Those are two of the main reasons I don't vote libertarian, though I agree with most of their policies. They're an odd mixture of sensible and radical; give me the former, not the latter, please.

Kerry might be inconsistant, he might be indecisive, inexperienced and a complete, risky mystery.

But thats STILL better than Bush.

I don't see whats wrong with just being anti-Bush. Like yea... Bush is decisive, but he's DECISIVELY HORRID.
Easton
lol in todays campaigning, Bush said this today: "I will defend your deepest values, and I will work every day to make sure your families are safe,"

work everyday? Hasn't he got the record for the biggest holidaying President in history?
wild_willy
looking at all the trouble bush/kerry seem to cause, i really like John Howard smile.gif But then some of his decisions in the past have been deeply swayed by bush thumbs_down.gif

It seems the 2004 election was so close that the Electoral College vote was tied and Congress couldn't break the deadlock. The Supreme Court couldn't make the decision themselves so they sent Bush and Kerry to a frozen lake in northern Wisconsin to have an ice fishing contest. No one was allowed to accompany them, and they were on their honour to let the guy who caught the most fish in five days become President.

On the first day they went out in two different directions. Kerry came back with 10 fish. Bush caught none.

On the second day, Kerry caught 20 fish and again Bush came back empty-handed.

When Kerry brought back 25 fish on day three and Bush still hadn't caught any, Bush got worried and phoned Cheney for advice. "He's probably cheating," suggested the vice President. "I hadn't thought of that," said Bush "You're probably right. What do we do?"

Cheney suggested that, instead of going fishing the next day, Bush follow Kerry to see what he was doing.

At the end of day four, Bush called Cheney up and told him, "You were right, Dick, the bastard is cheating."

"What's he doing?" asked Cheney.

"He's cutting holes in the ice!"

So you think all immigrants are a burden to your country?
That's a very narrow minded opinion.

Both your country and my country were founded and developed by immigrants.

Immigrants who are relocating with a genuine desire to be here and improve their quality of life are not the problem.

I do agree however that there should be more restictions on those claiming bogus "refugee" status only to leech off the system once they gain entry. It's a serious problem in Canada - I dunno about the U.S. though. I suspect that the U.S. also has a serious problem with illegal aliens as well.

laugh.gif I really hopes Bush looses! It just don't seems smart to have a so unintelligent man/monkey as him, to control several nukes and a whole army!

And then again, Kerry appears more to be family guy and it doesn't seems to be tough enough to strike back hard, if a terrorattack should come. Of course i could be wrong, but he just seems to be like that to me.

I voted! biggrin.gif

I've never done it before, even though I've been of the age for 6 years.
