So 2 years have passed since I seriously posted my resume on Monster.com On occasion I would go and see if I got any views and update it with newly acquired skills. Well out of the blue earlier this week I get an email from a recruiter at Micron Technology. She wanted to know a little bit more about me and my willigness to work odd hours and had me fill out a questionnaire. I did that and sent it back to her yesterday and she was wanting to get a phone interview arranged.

I ran the idea past my old mentor, that moved to Fremont, CA, and he said "These days the tech market is pretty tough and getting an interview in a real big commercial company with a large market presence should not be sneezed at...I'd say try - at least do the interview, if the offer is decent say about $60k+, and your wife can find a job or be convinced - GO FOR IT !!!"

It would probably take a LOT more money than 60k to convince my wife to give up her posh job but we'll see. I'm just amazed I got a hit. smile.gif

Wow, micron! Does that mean you'd be getting a job in CA?

Maybe. The recruiter was from Manassas, VA and apparently they have a fabrication facility there. Clearly not my 1st pick but I've spent time in the DC area and it wouldn't be the worst place to go. However perhaps she does recruiting for the California facilities too?

Its always good to get into a bigger company but also see if there is further scope for progress in the company .

Got another bite. This one for a Process Engineering job in Cincinnati, OH. WTF. What is this world coming to? Is the economy picking up? Is Satan himself sharpening the blades on his ice skates?

that's pretty cool! congrats.

Great news, Fiber! thumbs_up.gif Just make sure the job offer will better your situation. Your wife has a great job, IIRC, so I wouldn't want to take a lesser job, and have to have her work her way back into a different company.

(sorry about the late bump. I haven't had time to be on any forums very much lately)
