They are surprisingly good for their price and size... still not as good as our bose speakers.

Should've gotten some Klipsch tongue_orig.gif

God those look horrible.
Renesis
wtf is that. Looks like some gay toys...

Altec Lansing all the way thumbs_up.gif
dukenukem
did you get them from circuit city ? because the ones there look ugly as hell but sound better than the more expensive Altec Lansing
fiber optic
What brand are those? I've got some 4.1 Altec Lansings that I've had for about 5 years now. I'm looking at getting some Logitech 5.1 Z-680 but that's on the very bottom of a mile long list of stuff I want to get.

I've got the Z680's. They're excellent speakers, but they have one flaw. Their one flaw is a hissing sound. Thing is, just before the Klipsch 5.1 setup, these are the best computer speakers. I have heard the Klipsch setup at a friend's house and there is a difference, if it's worth $100 or not is up to you. Personally, I didn't feel the $100 more at the time was worth the Klipsch setup.

Be prepared for the hissing sound though, you might not notice it as much at first, but later on it can get annoying. Keep in mind I'm using a coaxial input from my motherboard's onboard audio though (Asus P4P800 Deluxe). I'm hoping I can get an Audigy 2 or something sooner or later...

The hiss is REALLY quiet. Hell, I can't even hear it over my computer and since I always have music on, who cares? Worth being able to feel the bass next door. canadian.gif

I don't have any good speakers for my computer, their the old stock ones. But i do have these beautiful surround sound speakers for my home theatre system. It's from Harman/Kardon.

EDIT: I'm actually interested in the Soundspace 11's from Nakamichi, i've heard they're good.

DakianDelomast
Does anyone else here have 5.1 for their computers?
TexanBerettaGT
I have my comp connected into my "KLH" home theater system 5 speakers a tube sub and a 8inch side firing. Yes it will shake my house. Yes it is ghetto. Yes it gets the job done.
fallon
i have 5.1 for my tv in my room, i want to put my computer on the same side so i can hook it up to that, but there isnt enough space :/

Well, my z680's are 5.1
Viper007Bond
No real need for 6.1 or 7.1. Don't get me wrong, they are better, but not worth the extra money IMO.

And I didn't realize there were like 4 other people here with the 680's. laugh.gif I don't feel special now. sad.gif

So very true. For the money you put into Blows speakers, there are MUCH better options out there.

I have Logitech Z-680 speakers on my main rig and Logitech Z-2200 speakers for my laptop / Xbox.

We should start an exclusive 5.1 club biggrin.gif
Boxster17
I have Altec Lansing 251, so I also have a 5.1 system. I was looking around and some guy said that he had this set, then bought some Logitech ones for like three times the price, and noticed no difference at all, and even thought that the Altec Lansing were better. Klipsch are good, but too expensive for what I'd want. I got these for surround sound, then I have my stereo for amazing power.

I am. I've got a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum driving the speakers, and it sound incredible.

I've been thinking about it. However, I'm not sure if the optical out that I have on my motherboard is just a general optical out that I can use or if it's for the onboard audio. If it's for the onboard audio, then I can't use it as I have it disabled due to my Audigy 2.

And does it really make any difference or is it just for fun? I mean the wires going to the speakers aren't digital, so I wouldn't think it'd matter...

[edit] And no, I don't have the Platnium with the 5-1/2" bay thing, only the ZS. I had no real need for the Platnium, so I spent my $ on other things. wink.gif [/edit]

nis', i saw those POS's at gamestop for like 29 bucks. what are they rated at? a whole 15w rms?

ive got altec lansing 951 series i belive. ill check the model # but they're 5.1's and fucken pwn

EDIT: 251's .. the same as boxter
clarkma5
My speakers are oooold school...well, sorta. Bought them in 2000; they're Cambridge Soundworks DT2500 (or something like that...it's been awhile since purchase day...). They're a 4.1 system, but I don't run the rear speakers a'tall. Sounds pretty damn good, really.
Viper007Bond
Ooo, look what just showed up on NewEgg! biggrin.gif

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-121-120&depa=0

And look with no faces - HOT! biggrin.gif

They are the same power and probably the same speakers as the Z-680's, but they've eliminated the hiss and redone the bodies. I'm gonna look into them some more and if I really like them, I may try to pawn off my Z-680's to my sister. laugh.gif

EDIT: yep!

We've taken the award-winning Logitech Z-680 speaker system and made it even better. How? By improving everything from the subwoofer to the satellites and adding new innovations like real-time digital sound equalization.

Viper007Bond
I'm really seriously debating whether or not to sell my Z-680's to buy those (not gonna rip off my sister by selling her speakers that are way more powerful than she'll ever want or need).
