Weirdest thing happend on Fri., I got into my car and tried to put the key in the ignition but it wouldn't fit in. I tried wiggeling it, banging it lightly, but to no avail.
Finally I got a locksmith out here this morning, (He didnt want to come down, since I told him the car is a Lexus, and he didn't want to deal with it b/c theyre too complicated) he used a hammer to tap the key, and voila...he pushed the pin back into place and it works.
He charge me $50 for banging a key with a hammer for 2 minutes!!
(I guess that better than the $200-300 I expected for possibly needing to replace the ignition)

How can I avoid this happening again? a new ignition for a Lexus is damn expensive sad.gif

Erg, was the wheel streight?

Yeah, nothing to do.

The problem was that I couldn't get the key in, period. not that i couldnt turn the key.
