So what makes you want this over an STi or an EVO8? And has mazda ever even participated in the WRC?

whoa, that looks really nice, its got kind of a widebody look to it, and that wing although huge is quite fitting to the car

it's not really a rally car. more like a fast touring.. in the vein of toyota altezza, etc.

Mazdaspeed 6 will be your answer diesel.
Its going to be almost exactly like the car you pictured above.

WHOA, that looks drop dead sexy.

Definitely prefer the 626's style over the 6's.

Does that answer the question?

but was this car part of an official factory team ? or even a private team with support from the factory ? If not , it was just some guy that took his 323 out racing . As for the 626 MPS , I don't know what's going on . I get a wierd tingly sensation down my spine . Just like the first time I saw a STI .

Did you happen to check the filename of the pic?

Mikkola drove for Mazda Rally Team Europe after he left Audi. Obviously, not just some guy that took his 4wd 323 out racing.

Wow, that's just a great looking car!!
And i'd prefer the 6 over 626, i never really liked the 626 for some reason...

DaikenDelomast is correct here on this one, the 626 MPS will be the new Mazdaspeed 6. The front might have some front modifications and the back taillights will be that of the 6 but in terms of the hood, dual exaust and spoiler, i'm pretty sure that those will come optional or standard.

Ooh. I really like it, but what would the performance changes be, or is it just a body kit?

No, it is supposed to come stock with about 270-280ish horsepower, i'm not sure about the torque. It's also supposed to have an upgraded suspension.

Looks quite nice, but I think a more subtle wing would suit it better.

actually they don't use Mazda in the name of the Mazdaspeed models. And it was never called the 6 Turbo, only the MPS or the 6.

MPS is the name of the concept; I'd bet that hte production model would be the "Mazdaspeed 6", just like the "Mazdaspeed Miata" or "Mazdaspeed Protegé"
