Honda's new SUT, potentially to be called the Havasu, Rockline or Ridgeline has been spied, and pix are available at The Temple of VTEC.

Looks quite...large...I kind of like but it looks too much like the H2 for some reason.
inky159
I was thinking Avalanche.
Dylan
I was thinking H2 because the side looks very squared.

they took the back end out of a Avalanche !!! and this is the ugliest honda yet ..... YES even uglier than the Element.
Dylan
Hey! The Element's not that bad!
clarkma5
They made it look too much like the element...and now it's bigger, so it looks like Ford's silly Tonka concept from a few years back. Should've looked more like the Pilot, especially as it's based off the Pilot.

Speaking of what it's based off of, this isn't going to be a good truck, because it's based on a unibody minivan platform. It's only for yuppies who want a nice honda that lifts them a few more inches off the road thumbs_down.gif
McKhaos
It looks like an Avalanche that got stung by a bee and swelled up .
Dylan
Another pic straight from the Honda site.
clarkma5
That's the concept, Dylan, these spy pics are of the production model, or at least some sort of development prototype.
Dylan
Well it does look like the spy pics and it's a bit clearer, so I thought it would help.
inky159
I like it. And I've seen much worse concepts. tongue_orig.gif Honda's good for venturing in new directions with great results. It does look a lot like the concept, but some things I'm sure will not be included (gauge cluster, roof).

wtf are all those wires doing there all over the side?
clarkma5
They're probably connecting some sensors to a computer or something like that...obviously for testing purposes of some sort. You can see that they run from the engine bay to somewhere under the car...
inky159
Real-world testing sensors... all over the truck, and harnessed together into a blackbox in the cab.
Black RSX
I think Honda made a deal with GM.... Honda gave them engines to put in their Saturn SUVs... and I think GM helped them with the design of a truck.

I believe that might be sorta an Avalanche under there... or that is my best guess.
nismo
OH yeah.... rolleyes.gif i didnt think of that

Honda says its upcoming sport utility truck is aimed at "cool dads."
Recently unveiled at the Detroit auto show and scheduled to go on sale in spring 2005 as a 2006 model, the new four-door SUT is quite unlike any other pickup on the market.
Based on the Pilot/MDX platform, the SUT has a short pickup bed and a full five-passenger interior. Although it will be Honda's first pickup in North America, it won't compete directly with more conventional body-on-framepickups from U.S. manufacturers and other Japanese brands.
Because of its underpinnings, the SUT will have a more carlike ride than conventional trucks, providing an alternative to consumers who like the utility of a sport-utility vehicle and the look of a pickup.
The actual production model won't look dramatically different from the concept vehicle. It will sport a horizontal-bar grille and large round headlamps. Power is expected to come from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to afive-speed automatic.

Ewww! avalance+element = worse than any of them sick.gif sick.gif

SUT is just short for Sucks, Ugly, Terminated. wink.gif
