Ok, to help make things make more sense, my uncle got into a car crash so instead of getting it fixed he decided to sell to the junkyard for the value of the car now. Why did he not repair it, because he's leaving for England for 2 years on a business trip with his wife. What he needs to know is what car to buy to import back to Canada before he leaves England 2 years from now. The Canadian government will pay for 40% of the vehicle he buys. He's looking for a good reliable car. He doesn't really want to buy a car from a company that's not available here because he doesn't know where to go to get new parts and check ups. So he's looking for help on what car to buy to import back here. Any suggestions? His limit is about $35,000 depending on the car. When i say 35k i mean 35k after the government pays 40%. Sounds confusing. laugh.gif wink.gif

Volvo (and I'm sure others) have a great export program. He can take delivery at the factory, drive it around Europe, and then drop it off at any number of specified ports. It will then be shipped to Canada.

Also VW can do that. But the bureaucracy may create a problem... You see, in Europe the cars need to be EG-approved and in Canada you might have your own approvals (do you use FMVSS and EPA as well?) So that's a think to give a little thought
