Full Version: Game: Find a car you hate to love.

Now here's the basis of this little game. Take a company you hate. And find a car of their that you like. The car can be from any time period, make up any part of their lineup and can be as special or as limited edition as you can find. For example. Chevrolet has absolutely no love from me. But specificially there is one of their models that I loathe beyond all reasoning and comprehension. That would have to be the Corvette. Honestly I would sooner walk than drive anywhere in a Corvette. They're bland, uninteresting, they have a common engine, they're made cheap, and there's people that make life goals out of owning one. Its like striving in life to afford a Porsche Boxster to me. I mean its not a bad car but come on can't you set your sights a little higher? So with that little rant done I set out to find a Chevy or better a Corvette that I could love. Then I remembered something.

The orginal C2 Corvette. The first stingrays. Specifically I have a soft spot for the split window models.

Especially with a sidepipe exhaust that car is one that I would NEVER mind owning. So what I submit to you is to pick a car or a company that you hate and scour the internet to find one that somehow you like and that you would consider buying (within certain reasoning).

The new Pontiac GTO:

And when the Solstice comes out they'll have two cars I love, but now it doesn't count.
RedLine
Dodge SRT-4 ... dislike dodge, but the SRT-4 is a good bang for the buck.
clarkma5
Ooh, that's another good example. I agree with RedLine.

I was hopin that you'd look for a Skyline or a Ferrari clark ;D
RedLine
I also like the exterior of the Ford Probe, thats all. I am a fan of about 1/3 of the ford products made.

There's no Ferrari I love. There's the 360 Challenge Stradale, which I like. And I have yet to meet a Skyline that I like.

I think Skyline is overrated, thats all.

Honda Asimo

The one star in their otherwise bland cookie-cutter line-up. The one and only reason you'd ever find me employed with Honda and the only product of theirs you'll ever find me interested in owning.

'64 Ford Fairlane.
I was "this close" to buying a powder blue '64 in original unrestored condition 12 years ago.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying it.
It even had the 289 with the high-rise intake and "police package."

I hate everything about the Mitsubishi line, and I'm happy to see them falling off the face of the auto market. I really like the EVO, though. It would be easy enough for Daimler-Chrysler to pick it up, but I'm sure they would fvck the thing so bad, it would look like a bastard-Neon.

So, yeah, the EVO is hot, but there is plenty of other cars to choose from in that category. (see avatar  )

What's bad about the first generation DSMs? They're (still) very unique looking cars, quick, agile, get reasonably good gas mileage, and can be made extremely fast. (notice also that Shep's talon still uses the stock block + crank, crankwalk is only for the "2nd gens").

As far as cars I hate to love? Hmm... Probably the new Dodge Magnum. It's soooo big and wasteful... but it's so nifty... but it has a hemorrhoid... but it's exactly the shape most cars should be.

Mr b00st
go to the VWusa website and look for a "golf GTI". You wont' find one smile.gif

I just never liked them. Sure, they can be made to be pretty fast, but they have never appealed to me.
