Full Version: Some people have no RESPECT for their cars...

First, like many of you, I try and keep my car really clean and take care of it.

Now, after school every other day (because of our scheduling) I can be down to the parking lot after school very quickly, I'm out with 2 friends before most people are, this way we avoid all the traffic. Well, as I'm leaving I see a person I know walk by, he sees my passenger side window down and notices I drive a stick, he tells me to do a burnout right there tard.gif Obviously, I told him "No." As I was starting to move he yelled, "Pussy," which I didn't really care about either. He didn't mean that in a bad sense, but it's people like him who I don't like. I can understand if someone doesn't care for their car as much as myself, but he just wanted me to do a burnout right there. Remember, my car has 163k miles on it now, probably 1000 times what Clarkma5's GTi has wink.gif

Whatever, I guess some people don't really care for their car at all... even my friends who aren't really into cars don't treat their cars badly...

Someone will probably say this one burnout might have not been bad, but remember the age of my car and that this car needs to last me till college so I want to take care of it.

Yeah, he's not a bright kid either whistle.gif

Burnout wouldnt nessisarily be bad but you're in a crowded school parking lot will near thousands of witnesses around. NOT A BRIGHT THING TO DO.

Also I dont think the title of this thread is correct. It should be "OTHER people's cars."

Well, I guess you're right, but they don't respect or take care of their cars at all. Some of them roam around the city at 1k or 2k under redline all the time. They make tons of noise and driving in 2nd at 5000rpm isn't a bright thing to do

lol

And so he asked you to do a burnout big deal. People have asked me plenty of times, and I just ignore them or say no. It's not a big deal. As for driving to the redline, it's all part of the fun.

Yeah, I've had people tell me to do burnouts before too. I don't have the money to buy new tires, a new clutch, etc. Also, my car doesn't burn out very well anyways since it's mid-engine and gets a lot of grip. If I attempted to burn out, it would look like that Firebird video where the guy just sits smoking his clutch instead.
5LiterMustang
where can i see that vid?

Actually, I still plan to do those mods. I just don't plan to burnouts, if I'm not mistaken, it's an easy way to ruin the tires.

As for driving redline, do you go for 30 minutes everyday back and forth during your commute drive redline all the time except when you idle at a stop?

I'm a HS student and with these tires, I want them to last as long as possible, when I'm ready for new tires I'll probably just go out and have some fun, but not until I get new ones.

I mentioned in previous post, and I don't have a problem to driving to redline, but these guys hold it constant there the whole damn commute.

We had a burnout competiton behind my school a few times. I never participated, but it was funny what half the kids were doing in mommy or daddy's car.

heh, yea thats just GREAT for the engine. Not to mention gas mileage, etc. Nobody wants to hear your shitty ass fart can, shift into 2nd you asshole :o
turbobrick
my friend does burnouts in his dads volvo 240 with 238,000 miles. But that car is a tank. Of course he knows better not to do it all the time because it could damage the car. But there's kids at my school who dont care about their car at all, they go over speed bumps at like 25mph, and I normally have to slow down to 5mph.
RedLine
I do burnouts WHEN I want to. If someone tells me to do a burnout, 99% chance I won't just because they asked. Don't get me wrong, I don't do them all the time. Probably 3 times a year though.
fallon
my car cant do them so tongue_orig.gif

I do burnouts in the rain every now and then. Very fun as the car will just keep going and going

And how do you know what my car sounds like? And yes I do drive fairly aggressive, that's probably why I got 16mpg on my last tank when I should be closer to 25. Today I plan on making a video of what my car sounds like because it has an apex'i n1 and there is constantly threads made about what the n1 sounds like.
