That car must have been travelling at a pretty good speed. Sad and gross at the same time. I wonder if the insurance company would consider that a writeoff or just in need of some cleaning?

Bacteria, can be written off as totalled. That's how some perfectly good cars are sold as flood recovery. Moss in the car's intake/exhuast system counts as a writeoff.

that last picture reminds me of the scene in Pulp Fiction when John Travolta accidentally shoots the guy in the back seat.

The problem with hitting deer is the fact when one hits a deer at speed, they take the deer's legs out first...the torso then comes through the windshield.
It could have been worse..a deer can weigh up to about 200 pounds... a moose, on the other hand can weigh 1500 to 2000 pounds!

Because of the general problem with moose in Sweden there is a car magazine that has a moose avoidance test as part of their review process. This test actually caused a huge problem for Mercedes-Benz a few years ago when the small A-Class was launched. It failed the test and flipped over. Not good for a company that prides itself on the safety of its vehicles. I give them lots of credit though as they recalled every single vehicle and fitted them for free with the stabilization system that was supposed to be an option.
