There is a shooting going on right now at Ft. Hood in Texas. Looks like 9 dead and 20-30 injured so far. Two shooters caught, one still shooting. I read that the shooters were in uniform but nothing is confirmed yet.

Often that's all someone can do. I'm sure the emergency services were notified, and it's not like the people who were Twittering were going to wrestle the gunmen to the ground. I think the whole twitter trend can be very powerful...take a look at what's been going on in China, or the riots in Iran earlier this year. Twitter's changing the media landscape...like it or not. I think it's a good thing. Not all of Twitter is completely useless.
