Remember the Kia KND-5 concept? Well here's the production version, the Cadenza. I have to say it does look quite handsome. Generic yes, but still a good-looking car.

It's good... for a Kia. The front looks like it was stung by a bee and it's all swollen.

I like the front. It's the boldest part of the car, and shows Kia's recent confidence.

On a related note, has anyone seen the Forte on the road? It's actually the nicest-looking compact sedan out there IMO.

Every time I see the word Kia, I die inside a little.

Too bad its name sounds too much like "credenza". It'll probably be a nice sedan, but Kia still needs that real game changer like Hyundai had with the Genesis. The Soul is as close as they've gotten so far but it's still not quite enough to really put them fully on the map...

I don't think Kia wants to go as far as Hyundai though. They still want to known as a value brand, just with more quality and credibility than in the past. Take a look at anything starting from the Optima. Not exactly inspiring, but excellent quality, especially at the price point. Now they have a pretty solid line-up: Optima, Forte, Koup, Soul, Sorento, and Borrego (or Mohave).

It is going to replace the Amanti, which for some reason reminded me a of a 1964 Studebaker Lark.

That car was ugly, too.
