Cuz that's 5% of the time, lol. You gotta have the right cat, makes so much of a difference. It's how they were raised I think.
My lil' buddy Mario is a Russian Blue, who I couldn't have move down with me cuz of the lease, is pretty chill. Grew up feral, like 5 years of it in Ukiah, CA. Was just the designated cat of a AAA office before I took him in. Never skiddish, will basically let you step on him in the dark and just be like "haha, idiot." Lies down in the middle of the street to sunbathe and somehow is still alive. If i'd lay down at all he'd come climb onto my chest and put his face like 2 inches from mine so that it was hard to watch tv.
Prolly only cat that is as cool that i've met is my brothers that he got like 6 months ago. A Savannah cat, spotted, likes water and to go on walks. But my brother put a good amount of effort into raising him non-spoiled and he's playful as hell. His housemate has two wiener type dogs and this cat with jump on their back and ride them around.

I find the cats that aren't fun or mellow are the exceptions to the rule, honestly, you just have to realize that whether or not the animal is familiar with you is a big factor in whether or not the cat will freak out or relax. We have 4 cats at the moment (well, sorta, one kinda lives out in the neighborhood) and they all have such unique personalities...they always seem to have their own quirks.

^completely...our bengal almost seems like she's a different species from our calico. Moves differently, acts differently...everything.
I never really respected cats as a pet till I moved in with Jen, now I like them as much as I like dogs.

I am betting in 20 yrs you are going to be one of those freaks with 70 cats that they show on Animal planet.

My brother had a cat named Mr. Man and one year they brought him down to FL and we brought the dachshund. Well the dog chased the cat into the bedroom and we all started to jump up to grab him then no sooner had we gotten to our feet that the cat was chasing the dog. Great times.

I think being raised around cats plays a big part as to how much you like them, I don't think I will ever be without one now.

We have 3 dogs and I grew up with at least 2 dogs in our family and a year ago I think, my mom bought a cat. It was a big change for us, but before this, I didn't care much for cats. After having Charlie in the house with us, I definitely like cats as much as dogs now. Hell, I'm gonna get a cat when I move into my apartment
