That would've been a very interesting way for Renault to get a foothold here...interesting.

I'm really not surprised this didnt go through. It was just a matter of time. Penske wanted the brand, but also wanted the rights to all of the models, along with the chassis/engines/etc.

It's a shame because I thought the brand had potential as away to bring in rebadged Opels. They could have sold cars for more though if they changed the name of the company. They had a lot of trouble shaking the stigma of the older crappier cars.

It's been a long time coming. Never drove a Saturn I enjoyed.

Yeah, the Saturn Astra wasn't bad at all. That's really it though, lol. Maybe the Aura XR as well.

The Vue was a good european-ey Crossover SUV, the Aura was a competent family sedan until the Malibu took the same parts bin and made something better with it (albeit for more money), and the Astra was basically an engine shy of being near the top of its class in the economy car segment. And the sky was a...pretty car. Oh yeah and the Outlook was a great truck except for the fact that there are/were three other versions in GM's stable.
They were getting there, anyway, weren't they?
Can't say I'm really sad to see it go. It's a brand that never really needed to exist, IMO.
In its defense the earlier years, when they were allowed a great deal of autonomy within GM, were significantly better.
