Nice collection. fair warning... people here aren't going to like the red highlights on the mustang. How did you find yourself owning the VW? I love the first photo of it in the spotlight-esque light
goota
does your mustang overheat often??? hahaha just kidding, nice cars, why on earth are you selling the ghia?
Narsh
Red highlights??? You mean the side stripes? THose are a trip - major conversation piece - but I got them because I liked the look but they are definitely love/hate.

And no, the mustang doesn't overheat LOL. The C300 actually runs a lot hotter than the stang.

The ghia my dad bought when I was 17 from my pitching coach in HS. We've had it ever since, I recently got it running and barely ever use it. It costs more in insurance than anything else. 65k original miles too. But I need some room in the garage and my old man won't take it back - so we are selling it.

What's the stang running besides gas? Looks clean

I like the red stripes. But what are the cable things going from the hood into the headlight area?

Those are hood pins... definitely a stylistic thing these days, but on old Mustangs they were to keep the hood from flying up the case that the latch failed... lol.

I have hood pins that haven't been put on yet because im not leaving my cowl hood on yet. I need them because my carbon fiber hood has no metal reinforcement at the latch or hinges and need them so fly up on the freeway. But pictured is a stock hood, so it must be a style choice.

Hey I can dig all of those...the Mercedes the least, but even then. Nice cars, nice pics, welcome aboard thumbs_up.gif

I am running:
Long Tubes, X Pipe, full corsa exhaust, 4.10 gears, U/D Pulleys, custome tune, Cold Air intake, lower contral arms, upper control arm, aluminum 1pc Drive shaft, steeda sport springs, shift kit, 125 wet shot and 19x9,19x10 Saleen Heritage wheels. The front end is a Shelby CS bumper. Its definitely a fun ride.

The hood pins are definitely not just a styling thing. They are absolutely necessary especially when hitting speeds over 100mph. Even at 60-90 you can see the hood flex. On the S197 (2005+) Mustang the hood sticks out over the lights, its not as aerodynamic as the SN95/New edge stangs so you get a bit of lift in there.

We have a customer car/GT500 that sees 180mph at the Wilow Springs straight without hood pins. I think you would be fine....

We've sold a hefty stack of hoodpins, don't think any of us have told a customer with a stock hood he/she needed them.

I have personally seen a few S197's pop the hood up running the 1/4. Personally, I don't want to risk it. Plus they look good so its a win win. One question though, the GT500 has slits/air vents on the hood. Any extra air would come out through there wouldn't it? The stock GT hood doesn't so the air coming in would push up on the inside of the hood.

that photo of the nitrous purge is SICK!

that ghia is amazing too.

i know it goes against the grain of most peoples taste, but nothing is better (TO ME OF COURSE) than a slammed ghia.

awesome photography and nice collection!

Louvers act as heat extraction, opposite to a duct which catches air. It instead takes slow air from an engine bay (from underneath if positive pressure exists, but mainly through the air damn/radiator) and removes it out into the free stream. The pressure area above the louver then decreases creating an upward pull/sucking on the hood. So, via its job this kind of hood actually wants to come off the car more. The reason both 05-09 and '10+ GT500's have the louvers where they do is to take heat/pressure out of the aft-radiator area, this also helps keep the nose planted down.

Notice what was light blue/green on a stock flat hood becomes dark blue after the louver on the heat extracted one:

Safety's all good, cant have too much of that. And I personally like hood pins. I'm just still not going to tell a customer he needs them.
Narsh
gotcha... I know the louvered hood does its job on the GT500's - they get quite hot.Still I personally thing they need more heat extraction but that is a different topic altogether.

Since I saw the car at the lot I wanted hood pins so the fact that they add some safety is a plus, but after seeing a few hoods pop up at the track I still highly recommend them.

I dig Ghias. I have a type 14 roadster sitting in a garage needing a ton of restoration. Your coupe is pretty nice good luck selling it.
