There is an M coupe in Hollywood that is an absolute gem, I just got off the phone with the owner. Single owner, 72k miles, all service records since new- Estoril Blue motherfuckers.
For anyone that has a good eye mechanically- and could do an inspection of the car and a test drive- take pics and report back to me.... i will give them $50.
PM ME FOR DETAILS ASAP.
Thanks.

Yeah, I need someone that is overly critical and knows what to look for.
Clinks, clunks, noises, check the bearings, check the clutch, check the e-brake, check for leaks, check fluid levels, etc. etc.

I will do it, no problem. I am extremely picky about cars and have been driving standard since I was 18. PM me the details. I can check it out tomorrow after work for you.

Ask all the questions about the clutch, leaks etc. If it checks out just buy it, as long as it has a clean carfax. If you go down and he lies about the condition you talk his price down. If he does not give in then you do option B, which is best explained by this video.

Strangelove, I will PM you soon- got some hw going on atm.
He insists that all service was done per manual, through a dealership- and that the carfax is 100% correct with him being the only owner. He also said that if i call up the dealership with that vin- all service history should show.
I'm waiting for his email with more pics and the dealership names.

Well, I can sort of drive stick. I don't stall anymore, but I've never driven it alone...or on crowded streets.
But yes, I know...Fail nonetheless.
Edit: If the clutch didn't have a problem, it would by the time I got done with it.

Vadvagool, you just need to drive a low hp/low torque sub-2500lb manual car with bald tires on a steep uphill during rush hour with a raging thunderstorm which restricts visibility to the tip of your dick... then you'll have mastered it. Assuming you don't stall, crash, or kill anyone.

I live in San Diego, not the same thing. On the east coast that could be another state's distance away depending on where in LA. I would honestly do it for free if i were close. Free ride in an M coupe and i'd take my pay out of the tires.

Yeah I live in LA now, I need to update my info on DS...
Hex, if you give me your phone or email, I can send you pics from my phone. I don't need any money to do this. Maybe a beer if I ever find myself in IL, but thats all. Like Mustang said, driving a M Coupe is good enough.

Will you have any kind of digital camera at your disposal instead of phone pics?
I gotta make sure that the bank stuff is sorted out tomorrow, my dad doesn't own me and tell me to go F myself about the idea... and call the dealerships/get carfax.
Then test drive
Then plane tickets
Then pickup

A dry hill is no problem.
But a wet hill with bald tires?

Never driven in the rain or an bald tires.
Need more access to a manual first. And it barely rains here.

Talked to Las Vegas BMW where he had it serviced at- facts check out. He bought it there, all scheduled maintenance complete, no repairs show.
Aside from the wrong-offset wheels on it- it's solid.
Things remaining:
-Getting carfax -Strangelove test drive -Securing money .... then flying out!?!?

The absolute opposite of that is true. M coupes are lighter, have better weight distribution and are like scalpels on the track.

The magical thing about these cars- is that if you don't put crazy miles on them, keep them in good condition... they won't really depreciate, at all.
They're the 2nd highest value-holding BMW other than the e30 m3.
