Pretty much came over a crest in a 45mph zone to see the car in front of me slamming on the brakes to avoid rearending the guy turning left into the driveway in front of him. Wet roads and downhill. My brakes lock, I pump them, they lock again, I pump them again, lock again. I am not slowing down very much. Traffic is coming the other way hence the guy waiting to turn left, the guy im about to hit is to the far right not quite able to squeeze around the guy in front of him so i have no where to go but straight into his bumper. I'm devastated. I drive that car when I need to calm my nerves and well, the catch 22 there kind of explains itself. Im driving my dads ram 1500 which is about the farthest from my daily driver comfort zone, not to mention im being overly cautious and on edge while driving now. I dont need the car to look good again, I just need it to drive again. Im very short on money... and I DO know a guy who can help me out cheap...hopefully. I'm just crossing my fingers. That car and I have way too intimate a relationship, like I said... devastated.
benny- on an unrelated note I did whallop the shit out of the 2nd coyote or any animal ive ever hit for that matter like a month ago, No damage tho... to the car at least
(i wasnt under the influence of any substance, and i haven't had that job in years, I hope you drive your automatic r32 into a fucking tree)
God, I fucking /hate that feeling/ when you lock up your brakes and whatever you do-- pumping, feathering, progressive --with the pedal the car just does not want to stop. Of course, I was in a 2090lb Paseo and not a 944 which makes being out of control, I think, a bit more nervy when you know the car has nothing in the ways of safety, and is tiny, and weighs nothing.
Another day on the way to work the brakes actually just died on a downhill. I was extremely lucky there wasn't anyone in front of me or any THING, too. The brakes just sank to the floor as all the fluid somehow disappeared.
