Rumour that Toyota F1's exit announcement is imminent. It is just a rumour, though - I'm not stating fact. Yet.

I hope not, I hate to see more teams pulling out of F1. I was watching a clip from a few years ago and was struck by how many cars were on the grid.

Autosport's reporting that BMW may announce exit at the end of the season.

Well the nature of the BMW announcement really cannot be confirmed, there is a good chance they might be announcing an end to their WTCC program, or perhaps something else.
Phix
Yeah, exactly, no where have they even hinted it's in regards to the F1 team.

Mario is in charge of a lot more than just the F1 team. He's part of every single thing BMW has to do with motorsport in general.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if they pull out of F1. I'm expecting them to announce their withdrawal from the WTCC since they haven't been happy in a long time.
Phix
Yeah, it's official.

BMW is pulling out at the end of 2009.
Uwe
It's official. BMW out of F1 at the end of 2009.

It's been a terrible season for them, I'm not surprised. I wonder where Kubica will end up.
Phix
Edited the thread title to reflect the current situation.

moe, Kubica may very well end up in rallying.

I'd like to see Kubica stay in F1, I think he is a driver with something to prove here, when he's on a good day he's a great racer - his tussle with Massa at Fuji in the rain was great to watch (I think it was those two).

Perhaps he could jump in a Renault as there are potentially 2 seats there for next season? Although if another manufacturer pulls out, it'll be Renault.
Dr. Strangelove
I could see Kubica in a Ferrari.

Also... Fuck, I liked BMW.
