Any of you guys have sleeping problems ? Lately, my sleep schedule is seriously messed up. I have trouble staying asleep.
This all started a few months ago, (School related) I believe, when I transferred from a community college to a competitive 4 year institution.
The problem is.... I fall asleep and like 4-5 hours later, I wake up. Check out the clock and go back to bed. It's been happening a lot lately and I noticed a huge drop in my memory(Recalling events, tangible things such as table's food order). This is a bit scary considering I am only 20 years old.
What happens is, I feel like the clock of my head has just been overclocked for like 5x faster. I dream really fast, extremely fast. I look at the clock, its like 3 am, dream..... dream.. and its only 3:15am. I am very tense. This could also be related to the work I do, which is pretty much waiting tables. I always try to stay calm mentally, but its very hard. Also, I feel like I got some sort of an OCD, its like my head works against myself. I sometimes think of something and it is usually negative like (I am telling myself, oh i am gonna screw up in something. I dunno how to describe it, negative feelings in general.)
My schedule is pretty much , Monday - Thursday : School: 9:30-10:50 (I wake up at 8:20)
Work Thursday night, 4-11
Work Friday night, 4-11
Saturday all day:10:45 am to 11 PM
Sunday, 10:45 to 9PM.
I also have to give my dad a ride to work every Friday, Saturday, Sunday mornings at 8:30....
This habit of mine was not bothering me, as I was taking naps on the afternoon and during week I somehow would feel recovered. The fact that I notice a drop in my memory and negative thoughts, I am kinda thinking of getting some kind of help.
I just need help just trying to relax and not give a shit, but what I would like to call it, I have a "too much thinking" syndrome. I just can't stop thinking. It just goes on forever..
Any of you guys have any sleep problems ? Suggestions ? Comments ?
Its like 4:37 am and I feel like shit. Gonna be awake in 4 hours.

My last 6 months in school I basically got through the day by napping after my morning classes, every day, because I had terrible insomnia. I got like 3 hours of sleep typically (usually tried for 6 or 7 but tossed and turned for half of that), zombied off to my classes, came back and crashed, and then handled the rest of my day. Every day felt like two days to me because I slept in the middle. A few days I'd be too busy to sleep in the middle of the day and would just be exhausted as all hell but would still often suffer from insomnia that night. I dunno what to tell you, I just got used to that sleep schedule and then got through school in one piece...

Yeah, for my 8am classes, I tried going to bed at 1, tossed and turned till 3-4am. Slept till 7. Got back from my class at 930, slept till 11am.

oh how sleep is precious.
these days my exams start at 830...so i sleep during the day and study at night. so i dont have to wake up coz im already awake and in the learning process. after the exam, i come home and sleep.
suffice to say, my sleep pattern is fucked up. despite all the changes and the non routine, i always get around 8-9 hours sleep. luckily last semester, all my classes were in the late mornings/afternoon, which made me a happy man. ofcourse there have been times that couldnt sleep till late, or just got a few hours sleep..but that doesnt happen very often.

My work schedule screwed me for sleep permanently it seems like. When I started, I was coming in at 6. 8 months later they switched me to second shift so i was coming in at 1. Then they got me back to 6 after a few months. A month later they pushed me to 11, then back to 6, then to 8 all in a months time. Now im at 630 and I still cant get used to waking up early. I work mon-fri and what sucks is on friday nights, since i woke up so early I crash only a bit later than I do on a work night, so I wake up only an hour after I usually do ( 7 f*cking am ). It sucks but Im not really a night person anyways.
See if theres a sleep lab, or talk to your doctor is you can do a sleep study. It might be medically related and he might be able to perscribe you something to stay asleep longer.

Wow, yea I will do that ^^. Looks like I am not the only one and it seems that school+work does this. On a positive note, I am taking my first vacation in 9 years, going to Europe :)
