Full Version: Your Ideal Car: Oahu, Hawaii
Dieselstation Car Forums > Parking Lot > The Car Garage

Dr. Strangelove
The temperature is perfect, and the sun is streaking through a series of small but fluffy dark grey clouds. The road snakes ahead into the jungle, devoid of traffic and holding the perpetual dew that seems to hang everywhere on these tropical Hawaiian islands. Later on, you'll hit the beach and tonight you'll be bar hopping in Honolulu. You take a deep breath of pure humid air and reflect: Nothing in the world matters right now, because you have the perfect car for your situation.

What are you driving? No limits on money or rarity or anything else, just your ideal car for a day in Hawaii.

Edit* Post pics with your car.
dukenukem
Some sort of convertible lambo. preferrably Diablo or Murcialagogogog
clarkma5
Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce AeroPack because that's one of my favorite cars at the moment and Oahu's got a pretty good selection of roads that suit that car I think.

Dr. Strangelove
Made an edit to the thread, this will be a lot more fun with pics.

I'm thinking Ferrari Daytona Spyder:
Clockwork
1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California, that car would most defiantly be my choice. I think this scenario calls for a convertible.

BlackJack
Gallardo LP560-4 spyder. Nuff' said.

My all time favorite Ferrari, 550 Barchetta.

As far as cars in production now, +1. I've been in love with the F since it came out.

Some further nominations:

Elan

356 Speedster

Tiger

And there are about a thousand others in the list...
SwissWhiskey
Zonda F Roadster.

Followed closely behind by the Scud Spider and Murci Roadster.
bobo27
spphoto.dk
Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-Tune Z2

OHirtenfelder
Hey. A lot of the awesome ones have been mentioned. I would take this, purely on sex factor...plus there is no one who could possibly be cooler than you in this. Pure awesome.

Actually, he's got a good point there. I'd probably take my first car over a bunch of the stuff in this thread.

Dude, your first car is badass.

Honestly though, I'd take anything thats a convertible. I'd like to enjoy that kind of scenery/weather, know what I'm saying?
I'm thinkin this thing:

maybe one of these:

I can't believe I'm saying this - but an AC cobra or kit would be too loud for this setting for me
Synesthesia
I'm not a big fan of really hot and humid, so something with air conditioning would be nice. Something nimble that would be fun to drive fast but also comfortable and refined.

But I hear what your saying nonetheless. I just thought I'd play devil's advocate.

BlackJack
Actually, you know what? Since you guys are talking about first cars, I'll pitch in with my true, realistic, car er truck of choice.

2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab Z71 lifted 6" with 35s stickin out and the suspension all worked perfectly with the roads.

I can even bring friends and have a blast!

My cousin's boyfriend does truck pulls (they live in KY there isn't anything else to do) and hes got a silverado 2500 that hes put about 10k into. Hes got a smoke stack comin' out the truck bed and everything. Its so redneck, yet so badass thumbs_up.gif

Having driven in Hawaii in a convertible I can say it really doesnt matter, as long as it has no top. How can i possible say this?

Easy, i drove one of these:

and it was perfect. I was perfectly content with its lack of power, horrible ergonomics, cheap interior and horrible driving dynamics. i paid no attention to the car when the top was down, as i was completely floored by my surroundings.
Dr. Strangelove
I'm with you, really I am. But this is ideal cars, not to mention you have to drive it to a club at night.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the cloth top wrangler.
moe
I'm surprised I picked the Veyron and the SLR, what I should've picked was the love of my life...

A Wrangler Unlimited would definitely be cool if I had more than a pretty girl to transport though.

Heh I've driven a cloth top wrangler in Maui. Funish but I wouldn't really reccomend it.
moe
The last time I drove a Wrangler, I decided it was a washing machine on wheels. I'm sure it's great off-road, and it looks cool for sure, but on-road it's crap.
Diesel
YOU ALL FAIL!

clarkma5
I bet Diesel could pull off a mean Tom Selleck impersonation.
OHirtenfelder
OMG I can't believe someone actually mentioned the fuckin Sebring. If there is one car that deserves to die in the fires of hell, its that! POS!

Umm, read what he had to say about the Sebring. He did say he hated it, but at the same time didn't care.
Diesel
I drove around Hawaii with a Jeep. LOVED IT.
Neotax
would have to be Mr2 2.0 GTI T bar

or

and if had no end of money ... wow .. the list would be endless
