About a week ago the backlight on my laptop stopped working. It will come on for a split second when the lid is opened/button is pushed, but then goes off immediately, so I'm not sure if the backlight is dead or just loose. My laptop is currently 4 years old. Has my backlight finally died? Is it just a loose connection? Is it something else?
How easy is it to replace/fix? I have seen several backlights for my computer for sale relatively cheap online - is it just time to replace it? Or is this a bigger/different issue?
Suggestions & advice greatly appreciated!

It may be the inverter instead of the backlight. In either case, one or the other will eventually crap out. I'd say just find an entire replacement screen and do the whole thing at once. It'd be easier anyways
