What does this do to weight/distribution/handling?
redls1bird
Handling is now characterized by massive oversteer, and lot of front to rear pitching when accelerating.

On a LSX hybrid note, this gets me excited about my 357i project i plan to start next year. (e36 with LSX swap)

If you read through the thread somebody put the information about the weight of the different motors. I didn't verify it, but they had the difference being about 130 pounds more for the LS2. But also there was mention of a cobra rear end. I have no idea how much that would weigh vs. the original Honda part.

I dunno seems like a lot of hassle to me. By changing the engine of the car, you've probably screwed up a lot of the balance, and fixing it is the equivalent of building a new car. Sounds like you should've just traded it in for a 'Vette.

People who bitch about putting a big ol V8 in a S2000 have never enjoyed the goodness of instant acceleration.

It's is the same argument that the RX-7 people always use in whining about the LSx swap when in reality its just a better engine. More power, more torque, and, if it's pushed back far enough and has proper suspension tuning, you're going to be dealing with a difference in weight distribution that is almost entirely negligible. The F20C and F22C are decent motors, but they have virtually no potential without SERIOUS modifications. With LSx power, you're looking at a phenomenal chassis AND a phenomenal drivetrain - no more excuses to be made at the track.

And the first person in this thread to bring up HP/L needs to be stabbed in the face - far and away the most useless argument I have EVER heard.

Cool!

This is the engine swap I would like to do if I were to do one to my car:
