Wow, this race is going to be great, I have not been this exited for F1 since I attended a GP at the Brickyard a few years back!
All this shuffling of the rules has created a window for the lesser team to be on top now, Ferrari and McLaren dominating was getting old!
If it rains its going to be hectic out there! Some great story lines going into the 2nd race!

By the way, I found this cool F1 blog, with exellent pictures!

its on at 3 am here lol. i will wait and hope to catch it on tsn or speed but i hope it rains and becomes an exciting race.

I'll be watching it at 5am with some friends from work.
Should be quite interesting, hopefully we'll get as much action that we got in australia.

The rain should come and make it interesting, but hopefully they finish the race Before it gets too dark, witch is a worry.

That was a nice race, again. I like this season. I think the rule changes are working really good. Not only that all the cards are reshuffled, but the 'less down force and slicks for more overtaking-rules' are working out really good.

Too bad the race had to be red flagged, but they really had no other choice. Very good call of Toyota to put Glock on inters. And another strategic fuck up from Ferrari.

^I'm starting to think that the loss of Ross Brawn and now Jean Todt has hit Ferrari a lot more than I would have assumed after last season.

I always hate when a race is red flagged, but the racing that I did see was pretty good. I'm often skeptical of the FIA's decisions, but I gotta agree with Marien, these rule changes seem to have made a big difference.

Kimi eating Ice cream while everyone's out there getting drenched, and Massa baby stay cool were the highlights of the race. Too bad it ended early...overall a decent race.

Ahaha, man, if there's one guy I really like at Ferrari it's Rob Smedly (Massa's race engineer) and, yeah, the race being red flagged was a good call and done at the perfect time before any other cars spun off or crashed. Man, they'll be absolutely stupid as hell if they decide to run Malaysia next year at 5pm in the evening again.

It was a good decision to red flag and I think there was enough action in the race that I didn't feel like we'd missed out too much. I did feel like the drivers are hard done by scoring half points, just because it could be very important later in the season and those who didn't score points today didn't lose out on anything.

Respect to Glock for an awesome strategy, had the race run a lap longer would have been tight between him and Button. Ferrari should take note of how they're supposed to do it properly.

I can't help but to believe there's some shakeup in the Ferrari organization at the moment. It seems as though they aren't organized, the teams aren't handling the situations with a sense of urgency, and that there's no concept of damage control in their strategy. It is UNLIKE them to be like this, and yes, it's only two races in, but if Ferrari doesn't dramatically change, then they're done for the title contention.
Phix
This is totally like Ferrari to be like this... they were for a huge amount of time like this before Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, and Michael Schumacher joined the team. In a way, it's Ferrari going back to their old shitty ways in the early '90s / '80s.

Well he's not going to be...

It's early in the season but I'm wondering if Button's going to get the title. Two British Drivers Champions in a row, would be interesting...though with the diffuser debate reaching a head before China it's anyone's guess how the rest of the season will pan out.

I'd love to think so. He got a bad start this weekend, but he did get the job done to get back in front. His 2 hot laps when Trulli and Rosberg pitted were sensational and that's the sort of performance that will win you a race. That and not flying off the track in a torrential downpour!!
Dr. Strangelove
I could see Ferrari picking up Vettel at the end of Raikkonen's contract this year. After he brought the Italian national anthem to Monza's podium last year, you know Italy loves him. He has a boat load of talent, and if he learns from his mistakes this season he could be one of the best.

I'm just replying here to have 3 Brawn GP avitars in a row.

Don't know if any of this is really true, but i read in this morning's paper that they are blaming Schumacher for the embarrasing wet tyre fiasco at Ferrari on Sunday, it says he was the advisor for that decision. I somehow doubt it, i still don't get how you can put wet tyres on a car in prediction of rain in 5 minutes and then change to intermediates when a monsoon hits, maybe Ferrari should be looking for the McLaren spy that infiltrated their radio transmissions instead.

Yeah it was said to be completely untrue by Domenicalli. They said that those sort of decisions are made by the team, not by Michael, who has an advisory role.
