I have never warned anyone. I think that way just pisses people off.

I on the other hand enjoy it very much. It seems to work at getting people's attention as illustrated here. If it were up to me I'd enjoy giving people custom avatars for stupidity but that might be going too far.

Basically you were warned for being stupid. So try being less stupid next time. As for its effects I do believe that it is about as effective as a slap on the wrist so I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. And if you shape up I might even decrease your warning but that's only if you're REALLY good.

i don't think we should be warning people for stupidity. if they were breaking a rule.. then sure. it they were spamming nonsense.. then sure.. if they're doing something BAD to the forums.. etc.. etc... but for stupidity.. life will take care of that.

But not enough people point and laugh at them. I mean really we don't even know what warnings do because no one has ever gotten above a 5%. Its really just a method I use to tell someone hey you know, try and age it up a little bit. While I do abuse it at times I don't think any one person could ever abuse it enough for the warning % to actually have any effect on a poster. But that's just my .02 $

Mods can be warned by admins or other mods. And the admins don't go anything wrong; if they do then Diesel has the power to deal with that.

So what does warning actually do? Does it make your browser slow, does it make you click 50 confirmations saying "Does your dumbass really want to post this crap?" when posting a messege, does it make you drive a Saturn? How bad does it get?

I think the posting confirmation thing would work. If some one is warned, they would have to go through a screen that says something like "Are you sure you don't want to rethink what you're about to post?"And has a little bit about courtesy, actually believing that people's opinions are different and unneccesary swearing.
