I know, I'm a little late to the game. My gamertag is G Kaplan if you want to add me, the only game I have right now is COD4 though. I'm looking to get a new one that I haven't played before, one with a good story line that I can get into. Any recommendations?

Mass Effect. Flaw recommended it to me and I'll pass on that recommendation. Absolutely awesome game and unless you invest every waking moment into playing it, you won't beat it anytime soon.

i don't really play games that much, but of the non-racing variety, oblivion or fallout 3 are worth checking out

oblivion
I second that as well.

Mass Effect
One of the very best games I've ever played.

Fallout 3
See above.
Also, Halo 3 may be a bit played out, but it's still an absolutely epic game. Grab both Gears of War games as well.
Forza2 if you like the sim racing stuff. I like playing around with photography mode myself. I
If you like blowing things up, get Battlefield: Bad Company. Blowing up something has never been more satisfying.
And I also recommend Mass Effect, got it for xmas and I'm on my second time through.

Just had a look around xbox live today and it looks like Mass Effect has a MSRP of 19.99 right now... I was really surprised, I guess that made up my mind for me. Also I think I'll download portal.

Portal's a great game but I think it's really frustrating on a console, much more enjoyable on a PC...the controls just suit it so much better.

QFT. If you get Portal (or the orange box in general) don't get it for the 360. There is no XBL community for that game anymore. And like Clark said, the controls are much better on the PC.

I already have L4D (fucking awesome) and HL and HL2 on steam. Maybe I should just give up and get orange box. I want to try Team Fortress 2 too.

Left 4 Dead.
I'm picking that up for my roommate as a late Christmas present.

We should play it sometime, maybe try and get a few games on halo 3 too.
^ As soon as my roommate hooks up the Xbox Live (the Xbox is his), I'll let you know my gamertag and stuff.

My roommate's dad was in town, and bought him GRID. I also got him Left 4 Dead as a late Christmas present...his lucky day. On the other hand, they did buy me a rather nice birthday present...I'll post that up in the Mini User's Rides section.
In any case, I don't think my roommate is interested in getting Xbox Live. He thinks he'll get addicted...I'll see if I can at least get him to hook up the free two month trial he has...
