So I got hold of this the other day, only had a chance to play for about 40 minutes.
Pro's:
Running it at 1600x1200 @ 8xAA Everything super high - this game looks amazing.
New worlds to cruise around in
Actual filmed cut scenes, instead of backyard green screened crap.
Con's:
Handling... taking a 90 degree corner at 225km/h with no powerslide in a stock Nissan? I think not.
Thats all I got for now. You guys got any thoughts?
I was tempted by the trailers, but the franchise has gone so far downhill, that I really didn't want to give EA another reason to keep making mediocre (at best) NFS games. If it's genuinely entertaining though, I'm willing to pick it up.

Most Wanted was the best NFS imo; after that they've been shite.

I think Porsche Unleashed was by far the most fun NFS games around. This game i might download if I am bothered enough. No way in hell i am paying for this garbage.

Looked bad, reviews confirmed it. I stayed away and I'm glad.

I liked the direction they tried to go with ProStreet (though they didn't quite get there). A game with accurate simulation in conjunction with an actual in-depth modification component would be ideal. Open world roaming (like in Most Wanted) would make it perfect.

Apparently Undercover lost ProStreet's simulation feel and brought back arcadiness with a mediocre open-world system that fails to beat MW.

I got it and played for about 30 mins. I can honestly see no difference from the NFS that was 2 years ago.

I never actually played Porsche Unleashed so Hot Pursuit 2 gets my vote.

Did you beat it several times IN THE SAME HOUR? That may be the game with the lowest replay value ever, considering the multiplayer sucks and the single player is short as hell.

I beat on different degrees of difficulty... I did not care much for the story... I just really had a lot of fun doing canyon races.

That is just about the only fun part of the game. Drifting in the canyon can be fun too, but the game is still way too chintzy and unrealistic to be really fun.
As much as Carbon sucks, I did have one particular awesome race in the game. I believe the Elise (or was it Exige...maybe I just had my Elise kitted out like one) was one down from the top rung of performance car. I basically took an Elise, and threw everything at it. Then I had a canyon race with a car from one of the car's from higher up the performance ladder (I believe a Gallardo). It was epic...
Yea in Carbon I had a pretty tasteful white Nissan GT-R. It was pretty sick, but i never finished the game because i got so bored with it.

Ah I wish I had time to play video games like I used to back in high school. Reading NFS reviews makes me remember all the time I spent playing old NFS games back in the day. *sigh*

Finished my exams up yesterday, so after some recovery, I went to the mall and picked up the game. My roommate was actually picking up the new Prince of Persia, but I couldn't resist...it's not bad actually. I've enjoyed it thus far.

My mate just got it on PS3 and I'm lovin it. Not realistic at all, in terms of speed, handling, etc. But it is a hell of a lot of fun. Plus you get to mod an M6. Hell Yeah!

Yeah, so did I. Didn't look *too* bad from the ads I watched, but they didn't look anything special either.

Yeah the graphics could definitely be better, but I think it's a worthy addition to the NFS family (unlike Carbon or Pro-Street). I welcome the return of the cheese-esque storyline, and the arcadey handling. Some of the circuits even resemble ones from the NFS of old.

i was cleaning out my desk tonight and i found my old NFS 3, and NFS hot pursuit for pc. Oh man they were so much fun back in the day. I dont really know what to think of the current NFS games. They all seem so unrealistic now. Oh yea, I also downloaded NFS underground the other day. Im actually enjoying the game except that i really hate how the more riced out your car is (ugly body kits, crazy vinyl) the more points you get.

IMHO, NFS never was realistic...

ProStreet was the most of the new batch, I suppose, other than those ridiculous (but fun) Speed Challenge events.

^ And that's why I thought it sucked. If I wanted realism I'd grab a copy GT or Forza, if I want arcade-style thrills, NFS is supposed to be the first choice.

Midnight Club: LA is the new winner when it comes to arcady racing games, if you can see through the urban streetracer bullshit of it all.
