I'm firmly in Accord/Camry/Passat/3-series land. There's a good smattering of higher-end BMWs and Mercedes but nothing much in the way of the italians or the bulk of the Porsche lineup. However if you drive south just a few miles that all changes and there the 5/7-series, E/S-Class, Jag S-type/XJ become the norm, Merc SLs are a dime a dozen, plenty of Porsches to look at, and Ferraris and stuff are no longer rare (although they're hardly EVERYWHERE).

I'm firmly in minivan and rusted out Pontiac territory.
There is a 350Z (although it's gold) down the lane, and a local business owner drives his 80's era Aston Martin V8 to work....that's all.

I live on campus currently, but walking out to the student parking will give you a full on assault of German, British, and Italian pornography with quite a few 'Vettes mixed in for kicks. It's all a bit ridiculous to be honest.

Neighborhood new cars...
Two new 2008 Mercedes C Class sedans, a 2008 Acura MDX and Acura TSX, A 2008 4 door Jeep Wrangler and a Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle.
The next newest cars in the neighborhood are my Wife's 2007 Ford Edge and my 2006 Mustang GT ( I have a whopping 9,128 miles on her to date)

Diesel's neighborhood looks like the epicenter of overextended, foul loans

All those people, can't afford their homes, nor their leased exotics. I am willing to bet that if you got on and looked at REO properties in that neighborhood that a number of those homes would be owned by the bank.

One neighbor has a audi TT. but thats about it as far as exciting goes. Most of them are just trucks and people haulers.

Around here it is the mostly the usual garbage asian imports and domestics. One of our neighbor has a house 2 houses down the street as a weekend house, they drive a Cayenne S. My one friend who lives a mile or two out, his parents have 911, come C class AMG, and a new Tahoe, he claims to have seen a few Ferraris around but I have not been able to confirm this. Funny enough,, today I saw a blue Maserati, a first for me around here. Nothing to fancy here at college though, nicest I've seen has been a prev-generation TT and a new BMW, a 3 series if I recall correctly..

Nice nieghborhood Diesel!
There's quite a nice selection in my nieghborhood, but because my area is located on a hill, its hard to ever see the cars parked on the driveways because the driveway is too steep or the driveway slopes down. There's the abundance of BMW's, Audi's Porsche Cayenne's and Carrera's, but theres also a few Lamborghini Murcielago's, a Carrera GT, Ferrari F40, DeTomaso Pantera and a 993 Porsche Turbo S. I've also seen a 599 GTB.

Holy Crap Diesel, that's a pretty banging looking neighbourhood. And some nice cars there. That Maser is one helluva awesome car. Beautiful drive, and beautiful sounding exhaust note.
In my old area (just moved on the weekend), there were plenty nice cars. A whole bunch of oldschool American muscle (Mustangs, Chargers, Firebirds, etc) which might be common over there in the US, but trust me, seeing them bad boys here is pretty thrilling. Also there arw tons of high end Mercs (S65s, SLs, CLKs, etc) real nice stuff. Also high end beemers and Audis, and the occasional exotic).
That area of yours looks like it suites the exotics though, my area doesnt.

Lets see...fancy cars I've seen around here more than once: M6, M5, M3s, various AMG vehicles (don't pay much attention), Caymans (s or not), Carerras, a modified C4s, 911 Turbo, really really modified TT, V10 TDI Touareg, 612 Scaglietti, Murcielago, Countach w/ huge spoiler, Quattroporte... That's all I can think of now. Many are owned by college students.

Hey PD,
My brother knows a wanna be gangster in Montreal who is apparently selling off his car collection cheap as chips (presumably to give him something liquid to go on the run with). My brother knows absolutely nothing about cars, so I take everything with a grain of salt, but there are newer Porsches up for grabs, cheap...like $25,000 cheap.
My brother isn't involved with this kinda crap, but he loves clubbing, which is presumably how he knows this guy.

Have you ever taken a reading comprehension test? Did you pass?
What i was pointing out was that for a person of diesels age to talk about keeping up with the peers of his parents, is silly. If most 18-20 year olds would post up their neighbor hood cars after they moved out, and have no assitance from their parents, the lists would read like a page straight out of a 1989 auto trader.
More importantly, why do you even care what I think?

Damn. Nice cars in that neighborhood.
Most stuff around me is boring ( Buicks and Camries and Tahoes, oh my! ). Though I've spied two Lamborghinis (couldn't tell what model), one Bentley Continental Flying Spur (one of our clients), and a 911 GT3 RS. In my neighborhood specifically, the coolest car is an old MG one of my neighbors has. The second coolest car is probably my Jetta. No joke.
Most of the loaded people here in southern Oregon favor CLSs and larger Lexii. This isn't really a performance car area (for the people who are loaded), which is a shame. Not once have I ever seen an E90/E92 M3 in person, for example (I know the Californians will be blown away by that).

I just want to know how you came about these things:
1. That Diesel lives with his parents
2. That he's 18-20
3. That you post things on a public forum, yet when someone argues with you, you pull the "why do you care" card.

I guess I might as well add my parents neigborhood to the mix. Any premium or large SUV is fairly popular, no exceptions, there's even a couple R-classes. There's quite a few roadsters, luxury sedans, lots of premium brand stuff...but the real interesting stuff...

Thats a really good question. To be honest, I really dont know why i thought that diesel was younger, and lived at home. I think part of it was the Scion, then getting the car from the brother. I assumed that he nicer car came from an older brother, making him seem younger. Also, it seems a lot of the people on these boards are younger (early twenties). The living at home thing came from the "post your room thread" not that long ago. I assumed someone with only a room to post was still at home.
I didnt mean to piss anyone off, or offend diesel. I still believe in my statement, though, its much, much less relevant now.
