The "break the cycle" A5 ad was decent. This, though, is just awesome (though not as awesome as the Godfather ad).
Audi's ad department > all.

Heh pretty good, though overall basing your advertisements on stereotypes and pre-conceptions is a bit weaksauce.

Granted, but the chances of the stereotype holding true versus not... it's remarkable...

+ 1. Isnt advertising supposed to sway customers who presumably own other cars to buy yours instead? Calling mercedes owners drunk old men, or bmw owners pretentious douche bags most likely wont sway them to come to you.
This ad, although not as humorous does a better job portraying Audis image.

^ Damn, that was well played by Audi.

Very funny ad! It's true though that stereotyping owners of other makes won't help sway buyers who currently own the competitive brand, it may just be that extra kick to push the business man into getting an A6 over a 5 series.

God that ad's funny. Billy in the M3 is so typical of M3 drivers on our roads. I see that kind of shit on a weekly basis. I love the stereotyping. So awesome. I love how the Ad authority in the States allows the slating of other brands. Here in SA there is no way they'd get away with that. And that second ad is just pure class. Love it.

The first ad isn't likely to win anyone over from BMW/Lexus/MB, but it's funny as hell and could help steer first-time luxury buyers to Audi (and considering they're advertising the A4, that's likely the market). The four key fob ad is one of the classiest ads I've ever seen.
And this, of course, is the epic middle ground:
I know we've seen it all before, but damn it just never gets old.

^ As you've said, we've all seen it before, but you just can't see it too many times. brilliant. While were on the Audi Ad thing, let me jump on the bandwagon, and ad one of my favourites. This one is the only one I could find, it's not the one they air here in SA. Ours is the same thing, just it has a much younger, more urban beat to it, not this old-man classical. But nevertheless, brilliant ad. Here goes:

the sequel
A real let-down after the first. The Laguna Seca thing was hilarious (except for the fact that Laguna Seca Blue is smurf-blue, not purplish-blue at all). The rest just felt forced. Audi guy came off as kind of bland--not over the top boring like Lexus guy, just bland and character-free.

Laguna Seca Blue is an awesome color. The BMW in the 1st part of the ad is not Laguna Seca Blue.
And I don't think the Audi guy was bland and character-less, he was tongue-in-cheek and sorta exasperated yet confident.

He's referring to Mystic Blue Metallic which was what the M3 shown actually was. It's just funnier that he thinks it's LSB as well. When i first saw this color i thought purple.
M3 red is where it's at, my brother painted his supra that color. It's a great tone.

Did the Audi guy remind anyone else of Van Wilder?
