Compared to the 2008 Lotus Exige Cup, it loses 38 more kg (84 more lbs) due to extensive use of carbon fiber, bringing the total curb weight to less than 900 kg (less than 1984 lbs). It's power output is 257 hp from a supercharged Toyota 1.8L.
It still looks like a happy alien.

I'd love any Lotus Elise/Exige for a romp on the many great roads in my backyard here and/or the racetrack. But as cool as these high-powered ultra-lightweight Exige special performance editions are, I believe that only the group of the base models (Elise, Elise SC, and Exige S) have any real fun-for-money value. I don't know how much this car costs but based on the Exige S 240 models I imagine it's gotta be pushing $100,000, if not a little bit more. Let's be fair...you have more options at that point for a fun ultra high-performance track car. Like a Porsche 911 GT3 or an Ariel Atom with lots of goodies.

I'm kinda bored with the Elise variants. The base Elise is the most desirable for me, but still, for the money I would go for the Boxster/Cayman every time.

No, actually, they need to lose an additional 375 pounds to weigh as much as a stock '57

No, I mean, you better be kidding about comparing the weight of a car from 2009 with the weight of a car from 1957.
