Could Moe or anyone else who speaks Arabic tell us what this says? In a nutshell, I'm not asking for a word-for-word translation.

That front end grille is what I've been waiting for Audi to do... for ages.

What's so special about the front grill? It's the same 'ol shield grill, just a little bigger still.
BadBoi
It seems a little too short to be an A8. Also that steering wheel looks extremely dated, and lacks any audio or cruise control buttons. And the way it says A8 in between the Tach and the Speedo is really tacky looking. Maybe it's that supposed A7.

This grille has no divide 2/3s of the way down like they all used to, only a license plate holder.

Someone on Autoblog pointed out that that's a base A3 steering wheel, and that it has NO buttons whatsoever on it. Definitely not what you'd expect in an A8. Likely this entire thing is a carefully-done photoshop, then?

Am i the only one who finds that grill obnoxiously large?? It takes up the entire width of the front end between the headlights. I imagine that grill, resized to about 75 % of its current size could make this car look 200% better.

It's not an A3 wheel at all, though it's definitely seen duty in the A6 and I think the Q7, previous A8s, and maybe some of the non-sport A4s.

Sorry Mitlov, I can read Arabic (even then, not well), but I can't understand it. I really like the car, but I'm pretty sure it's a chop. That interior just doesn't look cohesive to me, and those taillights look like someone stretched the A4's a bit and slapped them on. As for it appearing smaller, just take a look at the upcoming 7-series, it looks a lot smaller than the current generation. Also, with gas costing as much as it does in most places, I wouldn't be surprised if the A8 were downsized a bit.

Overall, I'm a bit underwhelmed, especially considering the current A8 was gorgeous when it was launched, and only got better with the mid-cycle facelift. I would love to see some of Audi's current design philosophy on it, but this chop just looks like someone stretched out an A4, which is what they did for the A6. Some imagination please, Audi.

This is Audi we're talking about...imagination is reserved for their two-doors wink.gif

I don't mean that they have to make something radical, and change everything the way BMW did. What I'm saying is, I'm kind of tired of them styling one car, and making all the others look like it. This time around it's the A5. Yeah, it's a drop-dead gorgeous car, now make the rest of them pretty in their own way. I'll accept the A4 looks like it since their relationship is kind of like the 3-series sedan and coupe, but the A6 as well? The A8 is a beautiful car, probably the best looking car in its class, but I want it to maintain its identity. I don't want it to become a plus-sized A4, the way the A6 has.

Me too. Although I generally like Audi's recent styling jobs, it does annoy me how they basically have ONE design, and stretch it over the proportions of their various models, from the A4 to the Q7.
moethepaki
I think the A3, A8, Q7, R8 and TT are quite a bit different from the rest of the range (though the R8 and TT have some cues tying them together as the sporty models...which is how it should be done). The A4, A5, A6, and Q5 are basically the same design stretched over different shapes and sizes.

Arnge knows arabic, but I think we ran him off.

That car looks like a really bad render. Those taillights are messed up versions of the new A4's. Also look at the last shot(the side profile) and look at the wheels. those are old wheels(can't think right now off which model) and they are completely misshaped.
I can't read Arabic, but I'll tell you, that's all bullshit.
Synesthesia
I don't understand how Autoblog doesn't realize stuff like this is fake. Just look at those taillights, they're seriously f-ed up. Oh, and the rear wheel...it's so much smaller than the front ones. I'm no expert on Audi interiors, though the steering wheel looks seriously weird...at least, the color seems off.
Abstauber
Sure, it's a fake.
But i believe, the "fakes" are based on spy photos of A8-prototypes. The car designer for future cars of the car magazine Autobild is well known for those kind of fakes.

I'm sure these fakes are closed to the real new A8. wink.gif

Some "interesting" tidbits from the convo:

"By God, everything is possible but know why you felt it was too small to be A8,, NATO is not written anything indicates that it A8"

LOL "The possibility of fragile A8 can be such a strange male fraternal sword A7"

"Designed to form the prayer of the population spoil milk, but finished validity
Thank God and thanks one button population Maver"

Seems google needs to work on their arabic.

There is clearly more wrong with the above translation than grammatically incorrect Arabic sentence structure.
OHirtenfelder
Do yourself a favour and go to any onlice translator and put in a few grammatically correct sentences and translate them into some language. Then take the result, and past it back in, and translate back to English and you'll see how much gets lost in the translation.

Here is an example of the above sentence translated into German with freetranslation.com., and then translated back into English. I am German, so I already picked up the mistakes in the translation.

"Power itself a favor and goes to any onlice translator and places corrects and translates into a couple grammatical sentences it into a language. Take then the result, and past it behind in, and translated will see back to English and you how much is lost in the translation."

See what I'm saying?
