It has been one year and one day since Colin has passed. I still remember coming in from Cooper/Young festival and reading the news in tears after getting a message from a buddy in england: "It was all over the news here man, its horrible to think hes gone." I have rally friends that actually met him, and I always heard things like, "Great guy, bought us a beer at the hotel in Jvaskyla.", and "Sure did, he talked with us at the start line for 20 minutes like we were old buddies." The act of driving a car fast the whole time earning lots of money is no comparison to an endeavor like solving a problem in quantum phyics, or some other great deed like saving children from a burning wreck. But spending your life trying to be the best at whatever you with all your sweat, tears, frustrations and victories is all that anyone can hope to aspire to. In that respect, he was a great example to all of us, rally fan or otherwise. How fitting that a band like Rush who make music with the utmost extent of their virtuosity allows them is the soundtrack to this tribute video.

Amen. RIP, Mr. McRae. I bet the clouds make one awesome rally stage. smile.gif

Honestly, I stopped paying attention to rallying when he left. He was one of my all-time driving heroes...RIP.

One more.

I remember hearing the news about it, but oddly enough, I can't remember where I was sad.gif
