I'm not embarrassed to admit to liking anything. However if I were to be caught listening to this at a stoplight I might be a little embarrassed.

It's mainstream-friendly wuss rock to them. I can see that line of thinking myself but I find a layer to it that is enjoyable.

I think I've got the most embarrassing song so far. But Coldplay is nothing to be embarrassed about at all IMO.

Nothing wrong with that. I love Coldplay's music, and its nothing to be embarrassed about. The movie 40 Year Old Virgin may have exploded the jokes, but its normally arrogant people who can't accept different forms of music.

I'm in no way embarrassed about liking this song, but most teenagers will disagree with me.

PorscheDream, just because lots of people like something doesn't mean it's good...in fact, given the popularity of NASCAR, Britney Spears circa 2002, and Diet Coke, I'd say that being popular is a good indicator that something's BAD.

Yes, thats very true. However music is subjective, and it becomes very messy when you try to justify the quality of one band over another. I was simply discussing the popularity of the band and how well they've been selling. People like their music and their records to speak, but again I do completely understand you.

I normally hate radio hip pop, but every time this song comes on the radio when flipping through channels, i turn it up because for some reason, it sounds good with my sound system. Otherwise I could care less about lil wayne.

I'd like to also take this opportunity to add that lil wayne is one of the ugliest motherfuckers alive.

The last episode of Bones had a very similar joke about Coldplay. Not in a mean-spirited "Coldplay sucks" way, just joking around that the main character's boyfriend was a closeted gay guy because he was taking her to a Coldplay concert.

Obviously, liking Coldplay isn't ACTUALLY a sign that you're gay. But seriously, why does society even use this as a negative connotation? For example, when Guy A says Guy B is "dressed really gay," 9 times out of 10 Guy A is a mouth-breather in a Slayer tee-shirt and Guy B is looking smart enough to be featured on The Sartorialist. Who cares is someone who bats for the same team started the trend. If it looks good, it looks good...and macho macho men are rarely a source of fashions that look good.

I just realized something that I am deservedly embarrassed about. It came up on shuffle on my iPod when I was driving today...
Linkin Park's first album. I actually like it pretty much beginning to end. Don't LOVE it but I like it. I was cranking music in my car but when it came on I raised my windows and turned it down. Then it got hot in the car so I lowered my windows again and turned the music down some more to compensate.

Jordin Sparks has an incredible voice. It's too bad all of her radio singles so far are so saccharine and shallow.

Not to mention, she is one of the most gorgeous women ever.

Oh, it ran up hype because it was in the Pineapple Express trailer towards the end of this summer. Suddenly, everyone knew who MIA was, and it was kinda like... "what, you didn't like her before, and now what?"
