After spending stupid amount of money, I have ended up with this:

Honestly, I have under-estimated how big of a difference a good set of wheels makes.
btw they are Neuspeed RS10 18x8.

Meh, like the stock MkV GTI wheels better.

Why are these so much better? (don't know what wheels you had before...)

Love those wheels.
When the A3 came out in the states, my friend got one and through his contact at European Car Magazine, he got Neuspeed to forge him a set, since they weren't out at the time yet. Plus tires, and a couple of other little quirks all for free, in exchange for a photoshoot.

They're not the best looking wheels, but they're not terrible either. 18 pound 18s is really good, though, and definitely worth it. I'd be willing to bet you can feel the improvement in ride and maybe even the improvement in braking, acceleration, and fuel economy with that much unsprung weight and rotational inertia gone!

Very nice. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels personally, but no doubt the weight saving is a definite advantage.
Congrats

I love Neuspeed's lineup of wheels; they have an eye for what works on VW's. I'm more of a fan of the RS-5 on a MKV but RS-10's are gorgeous wheels. And shit they are expensive... you baller, you.
