Some of the greenhouse is GTR-like, and it's got the same headlights as the new Maxima, though they fit this better. I'm also loving the prominent rear wheel arches. Overall, a classy-looking car IMO, and a big step up styling-wise from the 350Z.

Very sexy indeed, but I think the headlamps, and front airdam detract from the 350's styling simplicity.

It looks like it's gonna vomit.

Those lights are seriously awful...but I found that the 350Z looks miles better in person than in photographs, hopefully this follows suit.

I do like the side glass's homage to the original 240 however...a very nice touch.

On the other hand its just a leaked image so we wouldn't know how it looks overall..

I'm not digging it at all, however the image is pretty dark. I do think it looks like "Billy the large mouth bass"

I think it's pretty nice, actually, though the front airdam is not to my liking. Other than that it seems to me to be an improvement over the 350.

Those headlights are not favorable in the least. I like the rest, though, especially the window line.

I like the headlights...more energetic, not as sleepy as the current Z's. But in any case, it's a pretty evolutionary change in styling.

is this supposed to be 350's replacement? in which case, i dont find it very evolutionary...plust im not liking the roofline. anyway...i'll wait for the official images to give me verdict tongue.gif

The red ones are supposedly of a future styling direction for Nissan, not of the 370Z itself. The white ones are the Z.

I like it all except the "ready-to-receive" style mouth. I agree it looks like a Pshop though.

Dayumn. I love it. Those headlights were awful on the Maxima but great on the 370Z, and I love the prominent fender swells. Overall, I think it looks fantastic.

I read somewhere that the new 370Z is supposed to embarrass a Carrera for 1/2 the price (at least on objective terms, not necessarily subjective) in the same way that a GT-R embarrasses a 911 Turbo for 1/2 the price. This could be very, very nice indeed.

It's a pleasing evolution of the existing model, though I worry about how much they're gonna jack up the price...I've heard some estimations of the base price going up $5000 or more for this car over the 2008 350Z.

If the car has significant upgrades to interior quality and refinement (i.e., the same sort of leap forward that the second-gen G was from the first-gen G), that $5,000 price increase is well worth it IMO.

Frankly the 2006 interior upgrades for the 350Z made it good enough. This car loses a lot of its interest for me if it receives a huge price jump, interior quality jump or not.

Also, refinement? You want refinement, go buy an Infiniti. This is a sports car and if Nissan softens it to just another luxury coupe then it deserves to fail.

I didn't mean luxury, I meant refinement. To compare to roadsters, I'm talking about the jump in refinement from a Solstice to a Miata, or better yet, an S2000. Not all the way to an SLK or a Z4. I'm talking about the jump in refinement from a Cobalt SS to a Volkswagen GTI.

As for interior materials, here's what C&D had to say about the 2007 350Z's interior when comparing it to a Shelby GT, an RX-8, and an Audi TT. On the highs and lows for the car, the #1 low was "cheap interior."

Well I disagree with Car and Driver's assessment. No it's not amazing or class-leading, but when you get that much performance for $28k to $35k frankly they don't need to be. It was/is perfectly acceptable (I couldn't say the same for the 2003-2005 models).

There's a difference between plain & functional (Mazda Tribute, 2002-2007 WRX, 2006+ 350Z, etc.) and chintzy. A car interior can be plain and devoid of all the soft-touch materials or generally just dull to look at, but still be stoutly screwed together and ergonomically inoffensive. The Evos do that for the most part, but start to err on the side of chintzy in a few areas (basically, chintzy is when things feel like they might break too easily or move around when they shouldn't). That's my opinion on those cars.

I find it deeply offensive to be poked in the back by the bottom ends of the headrest posts when I push backward with my head, which is what C&D described.

C&D describes lots of things that are not true or greatly exaggerated. I really don't trust them as a resource, sorry. Also why are you digging your skull into the headrest padding in the first place?

I don't know about you guys but the interior in the 08 350Z interior is about the same as EVO IX and that is nothing to be brag about.

^ Nothing to brag about, but nothing to complain about either. What makes it better than the Evo in my book is that it's actually aesthetically pleasing. The actual aesthetic of the interior is pretty sporty, and befitting of the car.

I agree with Clark, it's good enough. Would it hurt it to be better? Certainly not, there's still a lot of room for improvement since it's not much more than adequate. Would I pay more for that improvement? Not just for the interior, but for the complete package the 370Z will bring, yes. I'd pay an extra $4-5k for the car. Of course, I know Clark's all about the bare bones, and probably would have a stripper model, so I see his point about it getting too expensive. I'd want the leather seats, premium audio, sunroof, etc though, and I think the Z is underpriced as it is, so I wouldn't mind the increase.

Looks pretty nice but between this and the GT-R I can't help but feel that Nissan is putting pickup truck interiors into their sports cars...the center consoles are too upright, squared-off, and dominating.

I really hope they don't ditch the base/enthusiast level of trim...ya know, no touch screen controls, no leather, no premium audio, etc. I have a bad feeling that they might just start off with the 370Z at the equivalent to the Z33's Touring trim.

I suspect they WILL keep a trim level with cloth seats, mass-market sound system, etc, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I gotta agree with Clark on the crappy Nissan interiors of late. The Maxima, GT-R, and now the 370Z all have interiors that belong in the Pathfinder. The design of the 350's was pretty much flawless from an aesthetic perspective.

Also, while I'd personally get my Z with the Touring package (I love my leather and premium audio), I understand the need for the stripped-out base model, and hope they don't get rid of it as well.

The premium audio in 350Z isnt worth half the premium they charge. All you get is a thumping subwoofer and shitty speakers.

Unfortunately, all Z's here are fully-loaded. You're only option is manual or auto. I'm surprised they even offer that, as most cars here these days are auto only.

The sound system in the 350z has always been horrendous... premium audio was a joke, base model was down right offending! Its almost like they ran out of ideas on where to place the speakers, so they just stuffed them anywhere they could.

The new interior looks nice, but I'm unsure of how that suede/alacantara door panel will look after 10 years.

There's a whole lot more greenhouse than on the 350Z, or that's how it looks to me. Is there any chance that this is a 2+2 (a la 911 and GT-R), or is this definitely going to be a two-seater?
