As you can see the front is sandblasted, as well as various dents and scrapes from the parking lot. Both bumpers need to be repainted and remounted, which will happen sometime this summer.

None of the wear-and-tear you describe is visible from those pictures. It's a very nice looking car.

But I thought you got rid of it and got a Camaro?
dukenukem
Camaro is his mom's car.
BadBoi
I like how every car in the background is a SUV.
Except.. a Golf Cart in picture 2?!
I like your car btw Moe.

Meh, the Camaro is shared between my mom and I. It's my project, and my mom's daily. She uses it for short journey's and I'm supposed to be getting back in shape while I'm at home. If you look in the background in the picture where there's an old Pathfinder, you'll see the Camaro tucked away in the garage. Usually it spends its time outside, with the 3 in the garage, and the Accord in the driveway, but today I had the top off, and was too lazy to put it back on. Since it was really hot outside I let the Camaro sit in the garage.

In any case, the Camaro has developed a fuel pump problem, and the transmission seems to be on its way out. So my mom and I want to unload it before we're in over our heads. Yaris anyone?

Damn it looks sunny there...a big thumbs_down.gif on the wheels. wink.gif

Haha yeah, everyone has either an SUV and a beater or an SUV and a golf cart around here.

Thanks man. I can't wait to have all the little niggles sorted out.

DS has already universally flamed me on the rims, but feel free to continue please, it's not like I give a shit. I think they suit the car perfectly, and add to its sporty stance.

They look terrible on the car. It completely goes against the flow of the design. You're insane. INSANE!

^ I have enough problems getting over speed bumps.

Wheels with a lot of space between the spokes like that look terrible with drum brakes. And with regards to flow, you'd be much better off with wheels that weren't so angular and didn't have bolts.
moethepaki
^ Yeah that gets to me sometimes (especially considering the braking performance from the drums is pretty bad), but ultimately I'm done upgrading this car. I plan to keep it until I have a steady job, and then I'll probably trade it in for an MX5 PRHT. Also, I'm not sure I understand what you guys are saying when you talk about the "flow of the car."

aka the rims don't fit the car at all.

They look tacked on like an afterthought.

"Oh, shit, this car needs 4 wheels in order to move. I'll just grab the first thing I can find in this random parts bin."

I think Moe's wheels look fine. What you're describing sounds to me like the polished chrome rims that one of the legal assistants here has on her otherwise-stock, early-2000s Saturn L-Series. Or the 22" blingin' rims that 80% of Medford Oregon soccer moms put on their Chevy Tahoes (and they all drive Chevy Tahoes).

Those are on a whole different level of fail. Perhaps, not of this dimension.

I think driving a Tahoe is a form of cruel and unusual punishment. Just like driving a PT loser.

Why do people driving Tahoes always seem so content with themselves then?

Well, see, there's our world, and then there's the douchebag world... tongue.gif

Anyway, a combination of lower profile tires and a slightly larger set of those rims would look pretty good IMO.

Moe I was wondering what else have you done to your 3?
moethepaki
Windows are tinted, 40% fronts, and 20% rears. That's about it. I'm considering swapping out the drums for discs all around, a K&N Drop-in, and perhaps the grille (since mine's cracked anyway) from what they call the "Mazda 3 Sport" here. I have the 1.6 with 105hp, so modifications seem kind of pointless. I should just save up and buy a faster car. My neighbors got a 1-series 5 door of some sort up for sale (he just took delivery of a brand-spanking new M3 coupe) if it's got a manual, and falls within my budget that's an option.
Synesthesia
1.6 Mazda 3? I guess they don't sell that in the US...probably no one would buy it. You wouldn't rather get a sports car than a 1-series? wink.gif

^ When I get a real job, in real life, I plan to buy an MX5/Miata. Until then, I'll stick to four-door (or at least four-seat) practicality.

Unless of course you pick up a real toddler along the way and then you end up real broke despite your real job biggrin.gif

If that happens you can call me Moetlov.
