Dr. Strangelove
Well, my friends and I decided to take the plunge and start building a car for the 24 hours of LeMons. I'm really excited, the project so far has been so much fun. Since I am a journalism student, and want to write for car mags one day I figured I should document the whole thing on a blog. I am working on my own website right now, so this link is just temporary. I'll transfer the posts when I get the other site up and running.

Anyways here is the link. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm confused; it says on their website the car w/ preparations has to be $500, and your car alone was $500? Anyway, this is awesome. I look forward to seeing what happens! wink.gif

Haha that's so awesome. Nice entries on the blog. thumbs_up.gif

You are now representing DS in one of the world's most prestigious races. Do us proud. biggrin.gif

Wow very cool and entertaining and well-written to boot. Nice work and best of luck smile.gif

I'm liking where this is headed. I noticed some oddly phrased/structured sentences. Can't wait to see the site go up.

If I remember the rules properly, the car and all go-faster upgrades/repair work can only total $500, however safety stuff, such as seats, brakes harnesses and whatnot can be installed at any cost, and isn't reflected in the $500 value.

Still, I would have rather found a cheaper car and had some money left over to fix stuff.

Although I recommend that you document EVERYTHING, lest the judges think you paid more than $500 for the car, and you get raped.

I'll be interested to know if you get into the race, from what I have read about it, it's now so popular that they turn lots of people away...

Haha awesome. I'd so take part if I was there.

I love watching LeMons videos, and I can't wait to see how this turns out. Great writing, found myself laughing

Thanks for the compliments, we have actually already begun working on the car, so I am playing catchup with the blog. I'll be sure to post up next time I update.
Dr. Strangelove
New post is up, will probably have another later this week.

The new post is great.

Keep them coming.

Link doesn't work.

(edit) Oh, got it, its my picture.
Dr. Strangelove
Well I have been working on it for a while and I have setup the blog on my new domain. The site is still pretty preliminary, and I'm sure It will change a lot, but I'm pretty pumped about it right now. This is my first time really making anything like this. Now that the site is pretty much up, I will probably be posting more regularly.

If you have any advice as to how I could make it look/work any better I would really appreciate it. Any comments are welcome (I know I probably shouldn't say this on DS), I just want to make it better.

Feel free to pass the link on to anyone who might enjoy reading about it. I'm pretty sure I am going to be an automotive journalist after I graduate, and the more people that read it, the better for me.

you should add more updates with work on the engine and pictures of parts and stuff to make it look better. smile.gif

in all seriousness, I think the quality of the posts are pretty good, I like it alot.
Dr. Strangelove
I finally got another update up today. Feel free to check it out.
Dr. Strangelove

tarp?
Dr. Strangelove
We threw a tarp over the car, but no one has had a chance to work on the car yet.

On a side note, I was looking at the analysis of the traffic on my site today and realized I have had 240 visits since the website started, with hits from every civilized continent in the world. I'm sure that has a lot to do with DS. Thank you guys, I appreciate the support. If there is anything more you want out of Sternbergring, let me know.
Dr. Strangelove
It took a while, but I finally got a update on my site.

I'd love to hear any feedback.

Got some shitty news today. Check Sternbergring for more. head.gif

That really sucks. Perhaps keep it and make it into a decent race car you can share for trackdays??
