Heya
Been a long time since I last posted, I think it wasn't long after I got my first car :-P

Well anyway, long story short, the old one has been sold early this year, never really happy with the NA; being slower than even the new Corollas and stuff.
So I bought a twin turbo. Mechanically the car is running fine, but has bits and pieces that needs to be tweaked up before more power mods are put in.

So far it has an Apex'i pod filter, some sort of aftermarket suspension, no-name BOV's, aftermarket steering wheel, Razo shift knob, Razo redals, HID's, 2000-spec taillight, Rockford Fosgate speakers front and back, cheapy sub and amp.

Not much plans for it at the moment, have a boost controller waiting to go in, and eventually new suspension, brakes, CF driveshaft, and a Wings West + Kaminari bodykit, and a full respray in the black metallic or gloss black.

Don't forget this is jsut the beginning...there is so so much more to come in this car.

Looks good, not a fan of those rims though, but they're stock. I'd stay away from a bodykit if I were you though.

No I hate those rims too..stockies, 16", and the front wheels are on the wrong way. Going to go back to 18" like I had in my old car, but staggered this time.

Bodykit I'm pretty definite to go on that, because my front bar is pretty trashed, and honestly I think the Z look more aggressive with a kit that makes it look "thicker". But don't worry it won't be the way OTT type of kit, my aim is to mod the car, but it'll look like it's meant to be like that and as though it came from the factory like that.

Haha I actually love the wheels. tongue.gif Looks good, nice looking ride. Keep us posted. smile.gif

I, too, have always liked the 300ZX stock 16" alloys.

Have fun with this car. My friend had one and even though he abused it (it was a mess), you could still feel the awesome car the lived underneath. And his was only the base naturally aspirated model!

i have a big soft spot for 300zx smile.gif Good luck and have fun

N/A 300ZX's unequivocally suck simply because they are not TT 300ZX's. Clean Z32, hope you enjoy it!

If it were my money, I'd buy a normally aspirated model over a turbo.

Then again you sold one GTi to buy another one ....
clarkma5
That was a very worthwhile upgrade. But I could've avoided it if I had gotten a 337 edition instead of my first GTI, but I wasn't in-the-know back then and didn't know it was coming out.
moethepaki
^ Well you traded in for a different transmission, and a few less options. Felix traded in for a higher model with more hp. I'd say his was more of a worthwhile upgrade.
Bjorn
Trading in an Automatic for a Manual is ALWAYS a worthwhile trade.
moethepaki
^ True, I probably wouldn't have traded in an auto GTi for a manual one though.
Bjorn
I know I certainly would. I need a manual, or I really really dislike the car...It could be a brilliant car, but I'll still be miserable.

Although if I don't own the car I really don't care...my wife's car is an auto, and I like it quite a bit.
moethepaki
My dad's '04 Accord is an auto, and I have to say it's exceptionally smooth. I think that car makes more sense as an auto seeing as it's not exactly an inspiring drive. What does wifey drive?
Bjorn
The wife drives an old Mercedes 190D...It's in beautiful shape and does pretty decent fuel mileage for a car which is almost 20 years old.

Neat car! I can remember driving a dark green 300ZX TT with T-Tops back around 95-ish as a company car.

Nope, I had a family since then though biggrin.gif Also keep in mind that after 96, there was no Z! And even in 96 company policies pretty much prevented employees from getting Zs as they were losing their asses on them anyways.

Plus over the past few years I've been traveling around 65,000-70,000 miles/year calling on dealers... so a Z would be miserable on the HWY. I counted the number of Muranos I've had though since 2003 and the total comes to 12!! Thats a good bit of mileage.

My good friend has a 300zx TT into which he's thrown in over 15k in (tasteful) mods. My god, it was the most fearsome ride I've ever gotten. It was sideways in every turn, and not to mention that everyone that we drove past stared at it (lowered, $2500 paintjob, slick wheels). It was great.
